Chapter 4: Five Seconds

"We're going to leave right now? As in now?" I asked in disbelief

"Yup"

"You should've atleast let me say goodbye to my friends" I said madly

"Last time I check, you don't have any friends beside Beomgyu, right?" she said which made me realize that I don't really have any friends here beside Beomgyu

I used to have few friends before but they're all fake

Sunwoo is also my friend now but Beomgyu is still my best friend. We're always together because we only have each other. But now that I'm going to live far away from him, I don't think we can still hangout together like before

Daegu is really far from Seoul and you need to take a flight to go there so it's impossible for us to meet again after this

"Ryu, Mrs. Lee already told me everything You don't have to worry about me. I'm going to be fine here" Beomgyu said but I can tell that he's sad

"I honestly don't want to leave"

"But you have to" he said and smiled

"I wish I can take you with me" I smiled sadly and held his wrist to put the bracelet that my mom gave me when I was young

"I wish I can stay by your side forever" he said with a smile but I can see the tears on the corner of his eyes

"Promise me that you're going to be fine while I'm gone. Don't let your parents and other people control your life. Wait for me Beomgyu-yah, we're going to survive this cruel world together. I promise you that" I said with confidence which makes him laugh. I immediately gave him a punch

"Sorry, it's just that I'm happy to hear that I'm part of your dreams too" he said

"You're the only one I have right now, I can't afford to lose you so I will do whatever it takes to protect you. But I need to earn a lot of money for me to be able to do that. Give me 3 years---no, give me 2 years and I will take you with me" I said with full of confidence

I already have money but I can't get it not until I became adult so the only choice that I have right now was Mrs. Lee. By accepting Mrs. Lee's offer, I can earn a big amount of money by two years and I think that's enough for me to take Beomgyu with me abroad. Mrs. Lee doesn't know about the money involved on my custody so I don't think she will betray me and infact, I trust her more than my aunt

"Ryu, we have to go" Sunwoo later on came. Beomgyu immediately gave him a death glare and stepped closer to him

"I'm still mad at you because of what you did but I want to ask you a favor" Beomgyu said

"What is it?"

"Please protect her for me, she's strong and we both know that but she's not always strong, she's fragile inside but she always keep it on herself and always pretend that it doesn't hurt her. Please protect her. I trust you, Sunwoo-yah" Beomgyu seriously said which warms my heart

"I promise, Beomgyu-yah" Sunwoo said

We later on decided to go. Beomgyu came with us on the airport because he wanted to see me leave safely

When we arrived at the airport I can't stop myself from being amazed at how rich they are when I saw the private plane that we're going to use that is owned by the Kim Family

"Say your last goodbyes to each other, we're going to leave" Mrs. Lee said so I faced Beomgyu who's now trying to stop his tears

"I don't want to say goodbye, we're still going to meet each other sooner right?" I said with a smile, trying to stop my tears from falling
