Chapter 18

Ryujin's POV:

We're now here at our old house. It's still the same as before. Nothing changed at all except the fact that I'm not living here anymore together with my mom and dad

I wonder what am I doing right now if my mom didn't died. I'm maybe still the same. Arguing with her and my dad. Sticking with Beomgyu all the time. Doing part time jobs? I don't know. I have no idea at all. I don't know what I want in my life. I have the skills, brain and courage that everyone wants to have but why am I the only one with no dream? I used to think that my dream is to become happy but I later on realized that it wasn't a dream. It's my responsibility to make myself happy but I don't know how. Then I realized that maybe if I found out what my dream is then I will be finally happy

"So you grew up here?" Haechan asked while looking around our house

"Yes"

I looked around and suddenly remembered how my mom used to cook for me and how my dad and I used to argue on what movie should we watch

"Oh! Is this a piano piece?" Haechan suddenly said

I immediately checked what he's looking at and find out that it's one of my mom's notebook. My brows furrowed when I realized that it's really a piano piece but I can't see it clearly because it's already erased. It's written using a pencil that's why there's still traces even though the writings are already erased. It's also not finished

"What is tha---Oh! A piano piece?"

Beomgyu has a little knowledge about piano because he comes from a rich family

"Does your mom knows how to play piano?" Haechan asked

"No"

I never saw my mom play a piano. She's also not interested in any music. She's always busy on work that's why we rarely meet each other and even if we did, we're just fighting or arguing about something nonsense

I tried to read the notes and imagined the sound of it on my mind but I failed. But as the time goes by I realized that the piano piece is quite familiar

I turned the page and saw my mom's handwriting on the back of the piano piece

What language is this?

"I think this is a french language" Haechan said and brought out his phone to take a picture of the page

I noticed that there's also a date written on the same page

'August 17, 2020'

It's my birthday. It means my mom wrote this last year on my birthday? But why? And how did she even learned how to compose a piano piece? I'm sure that she's the one who wrote this because of the handwriting

I'm in the middle of scanning the pages when I received a call from Mrs. Lee

[ I'm already here in Beomgyu's house, tell him to call his parents and let me in ]

"What are you doing there?"

[ I'm going to ask for their permission to let Beomgyu stay in District 9 for a week. This is my birthday gift to you ]

My eyes widened when I heard that. I looked at Beomgyu who's innocently playing my bracelet

"T-Thank you Mrs. Lee! We will call them now"

I immediately ended the call and go to Beomgyu

"Call your parents! Tell them to let Mrs. Lee enter your house"
