Chapter 40

"You still play so well" I said to Haechan the moment we sat on our table

There's an after party after the engagement and all of our loved ones and old friends are here. I don't even know how Jaemin managed to do all of this without me noticing

"Just shut the f*ck up, Jennie" Yoon Su put a whole stick of marshmallows and hotdogs on her mouth

What surprised me the most was the fact that the whole Moon Family is here. Each members of the whole family are always busy. Even the young ones but they're all here. I wonder how Jaemin managed to bring them all here

"I'm Team Haechan" Jennie suddenly said while pouting like a kid which made Haechan laugh. Jennie and Haechan are now closer than before. Well, I can tell that Haechan is close to each member of our family

"I heard Taehyung is coming, is that true?" Jennie suddenly asked

"Yeah, with his wife and kids" I said which made her lose her smile

Fun fact is that Jennie is still single. I can't wait to tease her and Yeji about it once I get married. They both have the same personality so I wonder if it's a trend to avoid dating brats

"Where the hell is your fiance?" Jennie asked

I looked around to look for him and found him on Eugene's table where the elders of the family are eating. I can tell that they're having serious talks because their brows were all furrowed as thet listen to what Jaemin is saying

"I think Jaemin needs me there---"

"No, don't worry. It's not like what you think" Haechan suddenly said

"What do you mean?"

"He's just explaining why your marriage needs to happen next month" 

"Next month!?"

My jaw dropped when I heard that. I already expected our wedding to happen immediately but not this early because wedding preparation is such a hassle. Plus, my family won't let my wedding be just a simple wedding. I'm sure they will make it grand

"Sorry, it was my idea. I don't have that much time left you know"

All my thoughts vanished the moment I heard that from Haechan. For some reasons, I unconsciously looked at my phone's calendar and realized that he wasn't lying

Time flies so fast

I can't help but to stare at Haechan's face and realized how much he has change since we came back. He looks more pale than usual. The dryness and paleness of his lips was more visible now even with tinted lipbalm. His eyes looks so tired too

I can tell that he's already tired but still trying to fight. If it weren't for his smile, no one would notice that he's dying

"Don't stare at me like that, you're already engaged miss" he suddenly said which made me laugh

"I just realized that you're still handsome despite being sick"

"I know right"

He laughed and stroke his hair. My smile immediately faded when I saw how some strand of his hair fell on his shoulder. He looks at it and shoved it like nothing happened

My brows furrowed because of that. I looked at him and he doesn't seem shocked about it

For some reasons, I feel like I am going to cry again so I immediately stood up and go to the restroom where I accidentally bumped into Sunghoon

We looked at each other's face and realized that he cried because of how red his eyes are. He looked at me worriedly when he realized that I'm crying

"Did something happened?" He worriedly asked
