Chapter 4 • Realization

One month later...

You woke up and got dressed to go meet up with Mina.

You approached Mina's dorm room after you got ready to start the day.

You expected Mina to open the door once you knocked. She'd usually open the door right away, but she didn't seem to open it.

You decided to slowly open the door to check up on her, until you realize she wasn't in her room.

You tried to call her from your phone and decided to text her, but she didn't answer.

"What happened to Mina?" You said to yourself quietly. "I'm going to go ask Momo where she went."

You got to Yaoyorozu's room and knocked on her door. She opened the door, she looked pretty tired.

"Oh.. hey, y/n. What do you need?" she yawned.

"Sorry for disturbing your sleep, but do you know where Mina is..? Y/n asked. "I checked her dorm and texted her, I also tried to call her."

"Hmm.. I'm not sure. I think she was having a sleepover with Tsu last night," Yaoyorozu said.

"Oh, okay. But.. why isn't she answering my calls?" you asked. "She usually answers all the time."

"I don't know.. she's probably really tired, you could go check up on her," Yaoyorozu replied.

"All right. I'll go see. Thanks," you said.

You went to Tsuyu's dorm to check to see if Mina was there.

You knocked on the door revealing Tsuyu opening the door and Mina sleeping.

You said, "Hey, Tsuyu. Sorry for disturbing- I just wanted to see if Mina was here, I just wanted to make sure that she was—" but then she cut you off.

"Call me Tsu," she said.

You weren't quite sure why she couldn't just accept 'Tsuyu' but you decided to just go along with it.

"Er, okay. Do you mind if I stay here for awhile? I have nothing much to do anyway," y/n said.

"Sure." she pointed to her bed where Mina was sleeping. "You can go sit where she's sleeping. Don't worry about her waking up, she most likely won't."

You sat on her bed, you were glad that Tsu accepted you into her dorm.

"So your name is y/n, right?" Tsu asked.

"Oh, um, yeah," y/n said.

"Oh, ok. That makes more sense," she said.

"What makes more sense—?" you asked in confusion.

She replied, "Well, Mina was talking about you last night. About your quirk, your personality, and some other stuff."

"Oh, that's nice of her," y/n said with a small smile. You were surprised that Mina would talk about you to someone, you seemed pleased.

"So you're friends with The Big Three?" she asked.

"Oh, yeah. I am, sort of. The Big Three is really nice so I'm glad to be friends with all of them," y/n said.

"That's cool!" Tsu said with a happy, genuine smile on her face.

You were very happy that you got to talk to Tsu a lot. It seems like you've earned a new friend to talk with!

Tamaki's POV

I was hanging out with Nejire. She was very talkative while we were hanging out. I didn't talk very much like usual. My mind was just on y/n. Also the letter she sent me one month ago. I still kept it on my desk.

I suppose it makes sense why she'd send me a letter since she's really nice..

A lot of people think of her as a normal and calm person, but I think of her as a kind person, you just have to wait for her to get used to you.

Nejire noticed that I was gazing off into the sky while  having a nice, soft smile on my face.

"What's on your mind, Tamaki? You dozed off for a few minutes there while I was talking," Nejire said.

"Oh, u-uh.. it's.. n-nothing," I stammered.

She stared at me for a few seconds and asked, "Are you thinking of y/n?"

"How did you know—? Was it obvious-?" I asked in a flustered and embarrassed way.

"Well, I'd expect you to I've thinking about her. After all, she did give you that letter last month," she chuckled.

"Wait- how did you know that she sent me that letter?" I asked.

"She asked me to leave it in front of your door for you," she said.

"Oh. I didn't know-" I said. "But you are right.. I am thinking of her. I feel really happy around her, but I'm not sure why."

She smiled at me. "Well, what kind of happiness do you feel when you're around her?" she asked.

"What do you mean-?" I wasn't sure what she meant or what she was talking about.

"Do you seem to be having a 'different kind' of happiness when you're around with y/n?" Nejire asked. "Like, for an example.. do you blush around her?"

"Erm.. I'm not sure, I think I do... but I'm don't know why though," I replied back.

Nejire gave me a look on her face, as if it was trying to say 'I know why.'
  I couldn't resist asking her if she had any clue why I seem to feel a different kind of happiness around her.

"U-um, do you know why I seem to be really happy around y/n?" I asked.

"Hmm.. I think I know why!" she said with her finger on her chin.

"Oh, um.. ok. Then.. why do you think I feel so happy around y/n..?" I asked as I stammered.

"All right.. don't believe me if I'm not right, but.."

"..."

"..I think you have a crush on y/n." she said.

My eyes widened and my face turned light pink.

..and that's when I realized I've developed a crush on y/n.
