"Yes, Wren?" I asked.
She slowly opened the door.
"Hi!" She said softly.
"What's up?"
"We need to talk."
"Okay."
She was looking at Travis, panicked.
"I'll go find something to do," Travis said, leaving.
I wheeled out of the closet so I could face her.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I-it's you mother-" She said.
"What about her?"
"She was found over the border-"
"Let's go get her!"
"Grace! Let me finish."
"What?"
"She was found dead."
"Oh...is that it?"
"No...When Emilee went to go check it out, a note was left on her body."
She handed me a page covered in blood. It read.
"Whoever is reading this, please find Wren Mclellan."
Was written on the folded part of the paper. I unfolded it and began to read.
"Dear Wren, As you can tell, we did lose your sister. But, unfortunately, this is because of your niece's arrogance."
My face dropped, and tears filled my eyes.
"No, Grace, you did nothing wrong." She hugged me.
I continued to read.
"Tristan had the same fate. The reason I write this letter is for you to warn my granddaughter. I will find her and kill her. This will kill the truth once and for all."
My eyes moved to the bottom of the page.
"P.s. If you get in my way, then I will destroy your little house of little abominations."
I started to shake. A coldness went over my body. I had to leave, or I would be putting more people in danger. More importantly, my newfound family.
"So, what are my options?" I asked.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I can't be here anymore, anymore; it's not safe."
"He doesn't know where we are."
"You don't know that!"
Slam! It Came from the downstairs door. Wren headed to the door and slowly opened it up.
"Um, Wren..?" Travis asked.
"What, Travis?" Wren asked.
"There is a guard at the door."
"Shit...okay, stay here, both of you!"
She closed the door, and Travis sat on the bed.
"So, what did you guys talk about?" He asked.
"We need to go," I said.
I clutched the letter.
"I thought-"
"I know...I will explain everything later."
I wheeled myself to the door and began to listen. Travis began to pack the clothes we had left.
"GRACE MCLELLAN, TURN YOURSELF OVER AND MAKE THIS EASIER FOR EVERYONE."
A man's voice rang out throughout the house.
"Oh shit!" I said.
Everything suddenly went black.
