Ed's POV:

After she had explained everything that had happened, she laid down and pulled me down with her. I let myself laugh bit and she practically wrapped herself up in my arms.

She was shivering a bit, I was guessing not from the cold, but from her pure and raw emotions. This whole situation threw her off and I couldn't help but feel a bit guilty.

"Ed?"

"Yes love?"

"Can you grab the blanket please?"

"Of course." I said with a smile.

I grabbed the blanket and laid it over us. The way we were laying, we could see right out of her balcony and out onto the city.

"It's beautiful." she barely let out an audible sound.

"Look who's talking." I smirked. She just scoffed at me with that nonapproving sound that said that she knew I was wrong.

She turned towards me and laid her cheek against my chest.

"Ed?"

"Leylah?"

"Will you sing please?"

"What do you want me to sing? Anything in particular?"

"Something that's yours. I haven't heard anything else since a week ago."

"But, last time, that didn't go so well... "

She laughed at this," It's different now. I'll be fine, I promise, Ed."

"Ok."

Thinking of how she spoke and acted earlier, I picked what I thought was best.

If we take this bird in
With its broken leg
We could nurse it
She said
Come inside
For a little lie down with me
If you fall asleep
It wouldn't be the worst thing
But when I wake up
Your make-up is on my shoulder
And tell me, if I lie down
Would you stay now
And let me hold you?

But if I kiss you
Will your mouth read this truth?
Darling, how I miss you
Strawberries taste how lips do
And it's not complete yet
Mustn't get our feet wet
Cos that leads to regret
Diving in too soon
And I'll owe it all to you
My little bird
My little bird

She sat for a bit, just breathing against my skin.

"Thank you."

"No problem. Actually, I can't wait to write a song about you." I grabbed a piece of her hair and twirled it between my fingers.

She pushed a bit away from me so that she could look at my face.

"You. Wouldn't."

"Leylah, I only write about the things that I really care about and that I can't get off my mind, so yeah, you kinda fall right into that category."

"But, I have no idea what you would write about. I mean, really." she looked down at herself, and back to me with a questioning face.

"I'm not even going to try with you."

"Just for now Sheeran, but when I'm not dying to sleep, you will hear more from me."

"I'm sure I will." I gave her temple then head a kiss and relaxed into her pillows, the girl with the stormy past in my arms.

"Hey Sheeran?" I hear a voice yell.

"Leylah?" I squinted my eyes open and there she was, at the end of her bed basically sitting on my feet. "Why are you not still right here?" I patted next to me and lifted up the covers for her to slide underneath perfectly. I managed a bit of a sad face. "Look, yes Ed, it looks so comfy." I mimicked her voice and batted my eyes at her.

"Are you implying that I act like that? If so, I take back what I was going to propose already."

"Oh god, I would hate to miss that." I regretted my sarcasm immediately.

Here we go again. You did it now you idiot.

This seemed to be a reoccurring thing with us. She jumped on the bed and pushed me back into her pillows.

"Fine then. I didn't want to go exploring with you anyways."

"Well you see, that's a big lie." She was already off the bed and heading out of the room, "Do you just want to throw some breakfast together while your out there?"

"Not a chance ginger! Not with that attitude love."

She just... Am I rubbing off on her that much?

I heard the shower start and her cabinets opening.

Should I be noticing that she doesn't lock the door? Does it even cross her mind? Or is she trying to tell me something?

Ignoring my thoughts, I stretched out and rubbed my eyes again, not wanting to get up out of her bed.

I looked around her room and took it all in. Not much on the walls at all. There were actually posters of bands that she liked and pictures of her with who I supposed to be her brother and sister. She looked so happy.

I walked out into the hallway and crouched down to Jude as her slowly made his way to her room.

"Hello mate." He truly was adorable.

When I was younger I saw, my daddy cry, and curse at the wind. He broke his own heart, and I watched, as he tried to reassemble it.

Oh my god. You've got to be joking me.

And my momma swore that she would, never let herself forget. And that was the moment I swore, that I'd never sing of love, if it does not exist. But darlin you are, the only exception.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. How did she hide this. I didn't understand.

I sat against the door and listened as she finished the song and contained to hum while the shower turned off.

I closed my eyes and smiled at what I was just blessed with hearing. How does she do that, become more complex with every passing minute. She was full of secrets.

The door opened and I fell back onto my head.

"Ed! Are you ok? What were you sitting there for? Are you hurt?" she knelt down beside me and lifted my head I her hands, checking for blood. "I don't see anything, are you ok love?"

I sat up and looked at her in the eyes.

"Ed, seriously, are you ok? You're freaking me out a bit."

I couldn't help but smile the biggest that I have in a while. I reached up to her face and pulled it down to mine. I kissed her and she hesitated a bit at first, but the leaned into my kiss.

"You can sing like an angel love." I said as our lips parted for a millisecond.

"Oh shut up." she smiled and gave me a kiss on the nose before she walked back to her room.
