Chapter 5: Alone With You

Sophie POV

I hurt Brooke once again, I don't know why but seeing her in tears makes my chest throbs

It's weird...

Should I just fo home and give her space? I then felt a glare and when I turned around I saw my Boss glaring daggers at me

Shit, now I'm in trouble

All of a sudden people began to sing the happy birthday song and I took this chance to walk away from Amelia

"Oh, hey Sophie! Are you looking for sissy? She's there in the center and look! Sissy kissed my forehead"

I smiled at Henry because he was cute and plus the red kiss mark on his head makes him more cuter

"You look cute buddy" I giggled and Henry ran away while singing the birthday song

"Oh, Sophie come here! let's take a picture with my daughter here!"

Alexandra pulled me and made me stand beside Brooke who look surprised as me, I chuckled nervously and avoided her gaze

"Just smile, it's just a picture. No need to be nervous"

Brooke chuckled and I relaxed a little then gave the camera a smile

After the quick pictorial, it was now giving of gifts. Rich people and their expensive gifts but none came to Brooke's liking

It's obvious because of her expression right now

Well except for the chinchillas that her Aunt gave her

Then my Boss came in front of her and gave her an expensive necklace, I never felt so poor in my life

Amelia tried to put it on Brooke but she refused and it made Amelia frown

Her necklace has diamonds in it and the necklace I have, I hid it behind my back

"The last but not the least, Brooke's childhood sweetheart!"

Y/n announced and my face turned red, I timidly went towards Brooke and hesitated

"I-I bought you a necklace, it's not that expensive and stuff but I hope you like it"

I gave her necklace and I heard someone stifles a laugh, it made me embarrassed of course

I couldn't buy the expensive ones

"Sophie, help me put it on" Brooke mumbled softly

I smiled widely as I took the necklace and put it on her, I could see her ears turning red and I began to feel embarrassed again

"There, I hope it's okay" I mumbled and stared at her

She really is beautiful

"Sophie, where's my kiss? You kiss me every birthday. So where is it?"

Huh?

I stared at Brooke and she was pointing at her forehead

She never changed

"Okay, whatever you want" I chuckled and leaned closer to peck her forehead softly

I heard cheers behind me and I pulled away blushing

I can't explain this feeling but it's nice, it's nice and warm

"Let's eat cake together, please. Just the two of us, alone..." Brooke mumbled and held my hand

"Are you sure?" I asked since she just cried a while ago because of me

"Yes, I want to be alone with Sophie" She smiled and I softened
