Azriel x Reader Pt.1

A\N: Hello, everyone !!! I just wanted to let you know that I just posted a sneak peek of a new book I am starting to write! One of the one-shots I've written in here inspired it. I've been thinking of doing this for a long time, but I decided to actually start just now after gaining some experience in creative writing courses in college and how I can develop my ideas and plots.

***Azriel being protective of his mate, but things get out of hand.***

When you first met Azriel, it was his protectiveness and kindness that made your heart beat fast every time you saw him. You were coming from a family where you were never shown love or affection. The only thing you've ever wanted was a mate, who would give you a peaceful life, one filled with lots of love and affection. When you met Azriel,those expectations weren't quite fullfiled,with him every now and then going on missions,given by his High Lord,Rhys,but he always came back to you.He loved you and you loved him,it was perfect.

Everything changed when you mated.You knew that Illiryan males were quite protective of their mates,most even start fights that might end badly.You knew Az cannotchange the way nature worked for him,but you wanted him to try a little bit,atleast.He tried to hold himself as much as he could,while you were speaking,training, or being around other males. Cassian,on the other side,likes to annoy his brothers as much as he can,flirting with their mates,making funny jokes around.It was all good until one day things took a massive turn.

It was another day of your training with Cassian,who volunteered to teach you everything he could,for you to become a strong,independent woman,who can defend herself in a need of emergency.It was also one of those days when he decided to test his brother's patience.Your mate was supposed to visit you during your training,him wanting to see how you were handling everything. With him and his shadows,being able to hide and watch from afar, you never felt him being near while you were training.

''Keep going,your body won't start fighting and defending itself if you don't give it a push.''-said Cassian,walking around you, while you were struggling to do push-ups.

"Easy for you to say it,you're like a mountain made of muscle.''-you said,breathing heavily,your body burning like a hellfire. ''I can barely breathe anymore,can we take a break please?''-you asked,your butt falling on the ground,body tired of all the physical effort you put. ''Okay,okay....5 minutes,then we're continuing.''-he said,giving you a hand so you can stand up.

Hands shaking,you take his hand standing up,but your legs decided to give out,so you fell on the ground again taking Cass with you.

''Well if you wanted a piece of that ''mountain made of muscle'', you could've just told me''-says Cassian,while smirking,sensing his brother in the dark side of the trees surrounding the training area.

''Cass,please shut u-''-you go,but he silences you,by kissing your lips and giving out a moan,for Azriel to hear.Your eves going wild. Azriel's gonna go on a rampage when he finds out.

''WHAT ARE YOU DOING'-before you could  even register what's going on,you see your mate,eyes full of rage and betrayal.Constantly moving his eyes from you and Cassian. ''Is this what your ''training '' consists of,you kissing him and doing Mother knows what,while you never even touch me anymore.''-he shouts,you can even see tears ready to spill out.''Az,it's not like that''-you start saying ,voice shaking,tears already spilling out.

''Brother-''-Cassian starts

''Do not call me ''brother'',Cassian,why would you try and take away from me the only thing that I have ever wanted,the only person that was made for ME''-he screams,you can feel the bond shaking with grief anger,the anger taking over.

''And you''-he turns to you-''I thought you loved me,if you were planning on breaking my heart from the beginning,you should've just rejected me.''-his voice going more and more quiet with every word.

''Don't say this Azriel,you know it's not like this. I've wanted you before even meeting you,you were the only thing I've ever dreamt about.Meeting my mate.''-your voice and body trembling with grief and agony.

''Stop talking, I don't want to be near any of you right now''-he said,turning his back on you,his beautiful wings that you loved so much going wild and shooting him up in the sky.''Azriel''-you whispered through your bond-''Not you too,whatever you do please,do not leave me.This was a mistake,a big one.''-your heart dropping at the thought of the possible rejection.

''Hey, Y/N, I'm sorry you know I never intended to-''-Cassian starts, but you stop him ''Please not right now Cassian, you knew he was here didn't you, and you decided to play with his temper.You got what you wanted, and I might lose my mate. Please don't talk to me right now, I just want to go home and make things up if possible.''-you choked on your tears, your heart tearing apart as you remember the pained look on Az's face. With that you winnowed to the House of Wind,it being silent as if it knew how you felt and offered you a quiet place for you to let your tears fall, waiting for your mate.
