Marlene was confused did she fancy Sirius no she didn't he was Sirius
Mary and Marlene walked through the corridors with their arms linked on their way to the banks of the black lake
"YOUR NO BETTER THAN HIM YOU ARROGANT TOE-RAG!!"
"What's going on??" Mary asked as they reached the Black lake
Snape had his wand and a giant gash appeared across James' cheek making him stumble backwards
"OI!!! EVERYONE CLASS!! POTTER , BLACK, PETTIGREW AND LUPIN!! STAY...... YOU TOO SNAPE" Mason said as he walked towards the group
After a heated discussion and Mason telling the group of younger boys off , Marlene and Mary ran towards the marauders
"James!!" Marlene held his face in her hands and examined the cut across his face
"It's nothing Marls" James said and hug his head low
Marlene never heard James sound so defeated before she wrapped her arms around him
Mary and Remus were in a heated conversation with Peter jumping in every now and then
"You should see poppy prongs" Sirius said putting his hand on James' shoulder
"Yeah......accompany me" James asked and she nodded looking at Sirius who nodded
Waving to Mary , Marlene and James walked back to castle
"Want to tell me what happened??" Marlene asked linking her arm through James'
"I- we were annoying Snape and as usual Lily had to be his savior........he called her a mu- i- the "m" word"
"M- U-D-B-L-O-O-D??" Marlene whispered as she spelled it
James nodded in response
"You know what the worst part was?? Not that she yelled at me.......she ran to him!! Five years Marlene what guy waits around for a girl for that long?? Here me!! James stupid as fuck Potter"
The two walked in silence both deep in thought about the same situation but different things
"McKinnon wait outside I'll look after Potter" Pomfrey said
Marlene nodded at James and climbed up the stairs to see Lily sitting there with her head held down
"Lil?? Is everything already??"
Lily looked up at Marlene and gave her a smile before nodding
"Yeah I'm good"
"Why are you here??" Marlene asked moving closer to the red head
Lily looked her and was about to speak when the sound footsteps approaching gained their attention
"Lil- oh hey McKinnon" Amos said smiling at Marlene who awkwardly waved
"You ready??" Amos asked Lily who nodded
"Catch you later Marlene"

Marlene found herself in the common room with Alice and Mary in the evening after the trip to Pomfrey and the encounter with Lily , James had gone off on a rampage
"Where's James??" Alice asked looking up from her homework
"I don't really know" Marlene said
"Oh he's with Tosi Chag" Mary said
