"Sirius??"
Marlene walked up behind the boy and sat beside him
"Are you okay??" She asked softly
"Yeah I'm fine" he said softly as she walked to him
"No your not" she said under her breath
Marlene sat next to him and looked out at the ocean as it twisted
"Did I do the right thing??" Sirius asked after afew mintues of silence
"What do you mean??"
"By leaving......did I do the right thing by leaving??"
"Sirius it's okay to look after you for once"
"It's just I miss them Mar.....I shouldn't but I do they are my family"
"You and Marcus are quite alike you know" Marlene said softly
Sirius had been meaning to ask about him but everyone had skid around the subject and it was obvious that Melissa was still coming to terms with it
He had noticed how when he would score a goal Mal would almost say good one Marcus
"Both of you ran away from the things you knew....you love......but unlike him Sirius you ran toward the light not away from it" she said softly and tucked a strand of his unruly hair behind his ear
"Why do I feel like this?? Reg- I left him...I sho- I might never see him again"
"It's Regulus....he'll always be your brother and you will see him"
Marlene lay her head on her shoulder as they stared at the sea
Two silhouettes looking over the sea that's what James saw when he came over looking for Sirius
Not just any two silhouettes but his best friends
With a shake of his head James walked back to Potter manor singing Christmas carols under his breath
Marlene giggled as Sirius tripped over rocks as he followed her back to the path
"Why are we taking this path again??" Sirius asked as he held onto Marlene while she lead the way
"Because it's the long way round"
"Marls it's 3 in the morning"
"But we're going home"
''What??"
"Home , Sirius we're going home..."
"I know what home is! I don't know what your saying" Sirius said with a sigh
Marlene stopped and turned around to look at the boy
"Home....what does it mean to you??"
"As of now nothing I'm homelessand crashing on my best mates sofa.. well spare room but you get the point"
"Well home to me is not a place it's the people.....My family, Monty and Mia , James and our friends and you" Marlene said walking down the dimly lit street
"Me?" Sirius asked walking a few paces behind her
"Well you are important to me aren't you?"
"I'am?"
"Why of course kind sir" Marlene said with a courtesy
Sirius chuckled and held his hand out for her to take , the second she did he spun her around which caused the both of them to nearly topple over
Marlene let out a laugh as the two of them danced down the street
Sirius chuckled as they came to a stop and pulled Marlene closer to him
"I know it's over and it's the next day....but Merry Christmas Marlene" Sirius said kissing her forehead
"Merry Christmas Sirius" she said with a chuckle and pulled away from him
Sirius looked down at her whether it was impluse or maybe it was something he wanted to do for a while
"I love you" the words left his mouth
Marlene froze and looked up at him, her eyes widening as she did
"MARLENE MCKINNON!!"
The two them sprung apart to see Mason walking towards them , Marlene gulped he was a few paces away but he was fuming
