Chapter 12: Small Details

ARIANA'S POV:

When I regained my consciousness, my hair was untied and messed up, my vision was blurry and my head was spinning. All I could see was trees that were choking out the light and letting the fog roll around like breath and all I could feel was a staggering pain in my stomach as I felt a deep, burning sensation on my skin.

Suddenly, I noticed at I was lying in a pool of blood! Then I remembered some things that happened here before I collapsed.

Where is she?

Even in the stabbing pain, I tried to get up and find her. I wrapped my arms around my stomach which was bleeding like crazy, making it almost impossible for me to stand up. My head was still spinning and it was extremely hard for me to adjust my vision to notice my surroundings.

Ariana, you're strong as fuck! Do it!

I focus and looked around me but what I saw, horrified me! She was dead! They were drowning her dead body into the water body! Then I remembered everything that happened before I collapsed.

When they kidnapped me and started the car, I jumped out of the running car and bruised my leg. However, I continued running over a bushy and narrow path where they couldn't bring the car. Two men reached me pointed their gun at me as they exclaimed out of irk, "We won't hesitate to shoot you if you even move an inch!"

I was scared for a moment but then I mustered up and punched one of them. I snatched his gun and shot them on their legs. As soon as they fell to the ground, I snatched the gun of the other guy. I heard footsteps and two more men approached me. I pointed the gun at their direction and yelled, "Don't you dare come any closer!"

But, one of them took advantage of my shaking hands and shot me on my stomach! The bullet grazed through my stomach and didn't enter but it was enough to make me bleed. The staggering pain in my stomach made me fall. I felt helpless! One of the guys approached me and drugged me with the help of a syringe! I started to feel very drowsy and that guy said, "Go to sleep, little red."

There was another red head with me and they were taking both of us to a secret hideout that was nearby! When I jumped out of the car, most of the men ran after me and she took advantage of it and tried to run away as we planned. But, they shot her right between her eyes and... killed her!

They put her body right beside me and then I collapsed in the pool of blood of that girl... My stomach was hurting so much that I felt paralyzed! BUT, I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO CRY IN PAIN! I HAD TO ESCAPE! I started to run to the opposite direction as fast as I could. It felt like dying! My stomach was hurting so much that I felt like giving up yet I kept on running wherever I could. I started to hear footsteps behind me and it was evident that they were following me. Suddenly, three men appeared in front of me and and pointed their guns at me as he said, "Going somewhere, Red?"

I gasped out of shock. My heart and breathing rate accelerated. I was aghasted and that's when someone from the behind exclaimed, "DON'T SHOOT HER!"

I turned around to see two men running towards me. They stopped and exhaustively said, "She has already got a graze on her stomach! Boss would be furious if she gets further wounds before the auction and he is already mad at what happened to the other red-head!"

Auction?!

I was so close to having a panic attack and my stomach was making it impossible for me to stay strong. I took deep breaths.

Calm down, Ariana. Forget the pain you're in! You're stronger than you can imagine! You don't need a knight in shining armour when you, yourself are the warrior! They can't shoot me and I've to advantage of the moment!
