"Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves." ~Confucius
"Are you sure that you want to do this?" my father asked me.
I zipped up my suitcase in answer.
My mother sighed, closing her eyes.
"They already took one kid away from us. Do you want to give them the chance to do that to you?" my father questioned.
I threw my bag roughly on the naked mattress.
"They killed my best friend. I'm not letting them get away with that," I snapped.
My mother sniffed, and my gaze shifted to her face. Her red eyes probably matched mine. Her face was clear of any makeup, her hair a disheveled state. I turned my eyes to my father, taking him in.
He had harsh lines on his face, the usual salt and pepper hair flecked with more silver than black. His eyes were rimmed in red, his face looking as though it was cut from stone rather than flesh. His hair was in disarray.
It made my blood boil.
And it finalized my decision.
I would get revenge.
Even if it was the last thing I ever did.
