On Raysa's advice received through the immutable bathtub, Dan asked Louis to go for a ride on the lake. What he objected to at first, supported by their parents:

"You won't go! You know what happened to you!

- What if you fall again?

-But Louis will come and protect me! Right, big brother? »

And he turned to him while adding his gaze "puppy eyes" with supplement « supplication. " After a few seconds, eye-to-eye, they gave in. So the two brothers went to the water's edge accompanied by an army of trusted servants trained in swimming and CPR. Or at least that's what he assumed.

They reached the lake and spread a huge white sheet about two metres from the flowers bordering it. The older of the two lay down and prepared to pull his brother next to him when he jumped up:

"Where are you going?

-Make the turn.

-But. . .

-That's why I came here, isn't it? »

Is it me or. . . Is there a mocking tone in his voice? No, it can't be.

« "I'm going with you", he decided, standing up.-Don't bother, I won't risk anything.

-Danny. . .

-You can rest here, I'll just walk. I won't go near the edge, I promise! »

He squinted suspiciously in his direction, and the boy sighed secretly before throwing:

"Pinky promise!" while waving his little finger in the air."

". . . Yeah. . . Take Lena and Rin with you.

-As you wish! »

Two handmaids materialized at his side like ninjas, making him jump, and said in a perfect ensemble:

« Lena and Rin Yuven, at your service, young master.

-Uh. . . Hello,he smiled, scratching his head. "

Seeing their impassive faces, he turned:

"So. . . let's go?

-As you wish young master. »

And they went on their way.

After two complete laps without noticing anything unusual, Dan saw a slight golden glow on the surface of the lake. He approached cautiously and realized that it was. . . . a message in golden letters:

"Here's your clue! Don't be surprised if you feel like you're drowning! Good luck! »

What? Drowning?

« What the hell is this?

-Young master, is there a problem?

-No, it's just. . . "

He did not have time to finish his sentence when a sudden torpor overcame him and he fell forward. To his great surprise, through his blurred vision, it seemed to him that the lake was coming closer and closer to him. . . .

So that's what she meant, he thought before closing his eyes.

He did not feel himself hit the ground. But he heard his brother's scream very clearly:
