"Hey, you're spacing out" she waved her hand infront of my face
"Sorry... Uhm what was that?"
"I was asking what coffee do you want? "
"Whatever you'll have" I said and smiled, she then went to the counter to order
I'm with Jennie right now since she asked me yesterday about getting some free coffee. It's my day off I must be enjoying, not that I don't enjoy Jennie's company it's just that my mind wanders somewhere else or should I say someone
"Here's your coffee" she placed it on the table and sat in front of me
"Thanks Doc" I said while blowing my cup of coffee
"No need to be formal Lis, we're not in the hospital. You can just call me by my name" she smiled then sipped her coffee
"Thanks, Jennie" I replied and sipped my coffee
"So why were you spacing out?" she asked
"Nothing, I'm just tired I guess"
"Me too I can't even sleep last night" she giggled
"Sameee"
"Here, try their bagels it tastes really good" she said while holding a bagel in front of my mouth
"Okay" I opened my mouth and took a bite, my eyes widen "Wow uhmmm" I nodded while munching
"I know right? Have another bite" she was about to hold the bagel in front of my mouth again but i took it from her hands
"Thanks but I can manage" I replied
"Okay" she responded softly
We talked about work and personal lives. Apparently she's been working at the hospital for 3 years, she lives in her apartment and she has 2 dogs; Kai and Kuma. Both her parent are doctors, a cardiothoracic surgeon to be precise that's why she chose that field too. They're both retired but they are still active on the field like doing some charity events, and sponsors patients that has heart problems who can't afford hospital bills
"So tell me something about yourself? She asked
"I feel like we're in a job interview now" we both laughed
"It's just that I keep talking and you keep listening, I want to know something about you too" she smiled genuinely
"What do you wanna know? Just so you know my life is pretty boring"
"Anything, just talk and I'll listen"
"Well, where do I start?" I said as I placed my right hand under my chin "I'm from Thailand, we moved here in Seoul because of my father's job. We stayed for a year and we were about to go back to Thailand but I stayed. I fell inlove on Seoul, the streets, the people, my amazing neighbors back then, and my childhood friend" I laugh as I reminisce some memories
"Childhood friend? What his or her name?"
"Irene, I don't know what's her last name tho" I exhaled sharply
"Where is she now?"
"I don't know, we lost contact when they moved. I was really sad back then. I tried searching for her, I still am but these days got me really busy"
"Well that's sad, why did you fall inlove with her though?"
"When we were kids we don't really play all the time, since she's always sick. Whenever we play it just ended up her being exhausted and me taking care of her. Also the reason why I became a nurse" I smiled sadly remembering the memory
"Sick like, how or what?"
"Coronary heart disease"
"Oh wow" Jennie replied in shock "that's the most common heart disease, one of the cases we have is Bae Joo-hyun"
"Yeah, I know" I exhaled sharply, I wonder how she is right now
"I hope your childhood friend is okay, don't worry I know you'll find her Lis" she reached for my hand and gently squeezed it
"Thanks"
"By the way, I have to introduce you to my friend" Jennie said then waved to the woman standing at the counter, she then walked towards us with a wide smile
"Oh what do we have here?" she said as she stare, at me. Jennie introduced us to each other
"Lisa this is Jisoo the owner of this coffee shop, Jisoo this is Lisa one of my colleagues" we made a handshake then she sat next to Jennie
"Are you a doctor too?" she asked
"Nope, I'm a nurse" I answered
"Oh just like Rosé, speaking of Rosé. Jennie, I want you to introduce me to your friend again" Jisoo said sternly
"You sure?" Jennie asked "The first time I introduced you to her your voice squeaked that you can't even speak"
"First time? So there's a second time?" I asked
"And a third time" Jennie replied "The second time I introduced her she brought a chicken from her store and brought it to the hospital, you wanna know what happened next while we were eating? This motherfuck*r choked and ended up throwing up at Rose's clothes"
"Ugh please stop, I don't want to remember it anymore" Jisoo begged while massaging her head
"And the third?" I asked while grinning
"Oh nothing much, she was walking towards Rosé to apologize about their last encounter and ended up screaming at Rose's face because she slipped. Dumbass"
I laughed real hard on what Jennie said, I can imagine it happening and I can't stop myself from laughing because it keeps playing on my head
"You know what Lisa? I just met you but I hate you already" Jisoo said while sulking on her seat
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" I tried stopping my laugh and wiped the tears forming in my eyes, jeez that was a good one "Don't worry I'll help you Jisoo, I'm friends with Rosé" I said and her eyes brightened "Promise?" she asked and I nodded
"I guess I have a new best friend now" Jisoo said while clinging at my arm
"Excuse me? It's not my fault you're such a dumbass" Jennie stated. Jisoo just rolled her eyes
"Anyway, I have to go now since the coffee shop is packed again. Remember your promise Lisa"
"Don't worry. Just ask Jennie for my number"
"Okay bye love birds, enjoy your date"
