"And the survival rate?" Suzy asked
"After the transplant the survival rate vary based on the number of factors. Despite a rise in older and higher-risk recipients of heart transplants, survival rates continue to improve" Doc Wendy explained
"So we just have to wait for the heart then?" Joo-hyun asked
"Yes" Doc Wendy replied "You don't have to worry about the surgery, I'm good at my job"
"Okay, Thank you Doctor" Suzy said
"We'll go now, let's go Nurse Lisa"
'I'll talk to you later' I mouthed at Joo-hyun and she just nodded
"I'll see you guys out" Suzy said and stood to walk us out. Once we're out Suzy turned to me "Thank you for convincing her"
"You don't have to thank me" I said and smiled at her
"She'd never listen to me, so thank you" she opened her arms asking for a hug and I obliged
"Don't worry Suzy she'll get her heart" I released the hug and turned to Doc Wendy "You should thank Doc Wendy she's one of the best surgeon here"
"Of course" Suzy said and opened her arms again "Can I get a hug Doc?" Doc Wendy nodded and hugged Suzy "Thank you"
"Well, we're just doing our job" Doc Wendy said and released from the hug "Now we'll do our job and visit some patients" she chuckled
"Of course hahaha, sorry for holding you up"
"We just have to make sure Miss Bae is in her best condition, so we'll be ready when the heart arrived" Doc Wendy stated "Let's go Nurse Lisa"
"Sure, Bye Suzy"
"Bye"
"Let's go see the stars" I said as I enter Joo-hyun's room
"You do night shifts now?"
"I don't" I said and twirled "I'm not wearing scrubs, see?" I turned the lights off so the glow in the dark stickers will be visible "Much better" I sat on the side of her bed and stared at the ceiling
"It is" she replied "Lie down beside me you'll get a stiff neck in that state if you keep looking up" she fixed her pillow and blanket and I gladly lied beside her
We just stared on the ceiling silently, drowned in our own thoughts.
"I have something for you" I took an envelope from the pocket of my jacket and gave it to her
"What's this?" she tried to open the envelope
"Nope, don't open it yet" I took the envelope from her hands "Promise me you won't open it yet"
"Promise" she said as she extend her hand reaching the envelope from my hands
I raised my hand so she won't reach it "Promise me, pinky swear" I said and raised my right hand with my pinky out
"Okay, okay" she reached her pinky onto mine and sealed it with her thumb. I gave her the envelope and she stared at it "When can I open this?"
"After your surgery, you can open that"
"What's in here anyway?"
"A letter"
"Obviously it is, what I mean is what's inside this letter?"
"A news..... good news, I guess. Uhm a....... secret?"
"Hmm... now I'm tempted"
"Just don't open it, okay? You're a wack if you break the Pinky promise, it's sacred"
