Chapter Ten: The Boat, The Draw and The Spice

Lottie's Point Of View

"Row, row, row your boat! Gently down the stream! If you see a crocodile, don't forget to--"

"Run the hell away from it before it eats your faaaaaaaaaaaace!" I sang, mocking Alex's childish ways,

"OR!" Fred said impatiently, slamming his palm onto the table, "Or you could scream! As the song clearly states!"

"Ah." Hermione said in a quiet and slightly scared voice. I rolled my eyes and sipped up the remainder of my pumpkin juice,

"Oh, pip pip cheerio!" Alex mocked, lifting her goblet and holding her little finger out clearly,

"Oh! Oh look!" Harry said with a clear hint of joy in his voice, "It's starting! Dumbledore's standing!"

"VICTOR KRUM!"

"AH!" Alex half screamed as the applause and cheers brought her back from her sleep,

"Where the crocodil--"

"Fred be quiet!" Hermione shushed and tugged his robe sleeve. Fred and Alex shook their heads in time and sighed, before Alex's head thudded back onto the table and Fred leaned on his elbows,

"How?" I heard George asked himself,

"I've been asking myself the same question for nearly 11 months." I laughed quietly. George gave a small chuckle and I pulled an unimpressed face before pointing my gaze towards Alex. The applause died down and the Goblet of Fire's flame again turned a blue colour before it spat out another piece of parchment. It floated gently down towards his hand which reached out for it. He unfolded it once before reading aloud,

"For Hogwarts, CEDRIC DIGGORY!"

"WAAAAAAY!" Harry and Ron yelled,

"AH!" Alex yelled, and seemed to begin applauding automatically, going in with the rest of Hogwarts (but mainly the Hufflepuff table) which had also erupted into an assortment of cheers and applause. Cedric rose from his bench and strolled up the isle between his house and ours. Ron waved like a manic as he passed us, with Cedric raising his hand in a short greeting but giving Ron the up-most feeling of success. He threw his fist into the air, and Harry gave his best friend his own small applause. The noise and the chatter again died down, Alex's head this time managing to stay upright, and the flame of the goblet once again turned a royal blue. Another parchment flew out, Dumbledore caught it,

"Finally for Beauxbatons; FLEUR DELACOUR!" The edge of the Ravenclaw table was the loudest this time, as Fleur rose and gently walked forward towards Dumbledore, smiled and gracefully curtsied to him before seeming to dance lightly into the back chamber of the Hall. Dumbledore smiled but his eyebrows seemed to show he was slightly freaked, before he raised them and turned towards the rest of the school with open arms. The chatter died out, and he went to begin,

"Lo--"

"SHH!"

"Well there we have it. Students, staff and guests, that was our three Triwaizard champ--"

"Lottie, look at the cup!" Alex said quickly and more quietly in my ear, uninterrupted by Hermione this time. I stated forward towards the goblet, and my eyebrows raised,

"It's flames going blue!" Fred pointed out in a hushed voice. Sure enough, the flame was again blue, and it spat out a fourth piece of parchment. It slowly drifted down towards Dumbledore's outstretched hand, and an almost silent whisper had begun all around the hall. He made a grab for it, and the whisper was cut out. Unfolding it carefully, the face he pulled which was full of pure horror spelt for the trouble ahead,
