Something About A Secret Of Love And Other Things

Alex's point of view

"Fred! Get off of my foot!"

"I'm sorry! I can't watch them and my footing!"

"Well I can!"

"You're not under a cloak!"

A FEW HOURS BEFORE

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRY POTTEEERR!"

"Oh man." Harry grumbled as I approached him,

"Can we, I mean can we ..." I begun to ask,

"As long as you don't break it." Harry agreed,

"Oh wow! Fred! We got it!" I shouted. Fred appeared at the side of me in a flash,

"Woah cool!"

"Go fetch it then!"

"Why me? I don't know where it is!"

"Top drawer of my dresser." Harry mumbled, before Hermione dragged his head back into reading the book on the shielding charm which was open in front of him,

"Well I'm not allowed up there."

"Well let's both go." Fred decided. There was a pause whilst I thought about it,

"Genius."

"How do I look?" I asked Fred nervously,

"Old." Fred commented. I slowly begun to smile,

"Good that's what I was aiming for." I nodded as we walked out of Honeydukes, "Atchoo!"

"Oh! Bless you!"

"Oh yeah thanks." I rubbed my nose on my cloak,"I just can't get rid of this stupid cold."

"Well as I was saying, it's easy for you just to morph your looks." Fred said as he pulled Harry's invisibility cloak over his head. Situation. George and Lottie are going on a date! An actual date! Like, oh my merlin how exciting is this! But they didn't tell either of us, so we're guessing they were trying to keep it a full on secret. It might not even be an official date, but if Lottie's wearing a skirt and its not for her uniform, it must be bloody important. And since they hadn't discuss it eith either of us, Fred and I decided it must be important to them and to give them their privacy. So naturally, we followed them through the one eyed witch passage, and with me morphed into an elderly lady and Fred under H's invisibility cloak, we was going to watch and wait for some action,

"Oh, look at the bench so conveniently placed outside of Madam Puddifoot's window!" I exclaimed, and shuffled over as fast as an old lady would to sit on it before anyone else could. I heard Fred stumble somewhere along the trail, "Discrete Weasley!"

"Oh shut up." He grumbled, somewhere on my right,

"You look through the window, no one'll see you." I whispered through the corner of my mouth. I heard Fred's footsteps move to behind the bench and there was a gasp,

"You gotta see this!" Fred's hushed voice told me. I nodded, and slowly turned around to look, "Far corner! Against the wall! See 'em?"

"Oh Merlin's eye!" I gasped, and then grinned, "They are so together!"

"This is awesome!" Fred's voice said,

"I owe you a high five!" I told him. I got up and stood beside him at the window,

"What are they talking about?" Fred asked,

"Well how do I fucking know?! I don't, do I?!" I told him, and then shook my head in disgust, "I don't hear through walls, Fred."

"Yes, but you can read lips!" Fred defended. It was true. I stared through the window,

"I think something about ... Christmas?"

"What happened at Christmas?" Fred asked. Instead of opting for the obvious solution of trying to figure out from George and Lottie's conversation, I tried to remember independantly,

"They kissed!" I proclaimed, "They must be-- Ow!"

"What?"

"Fred, get off my foot!"

"I'm sorry! I can't watch them and my footing!"

"Well I can!"

"You're not under a cloak!"

I was awoken by the sound of the portrait door opening. My eyes flew open and I smacked my head on the couch. I was sitting on the floor in the corner of the common room, hidden greatly by one of the couches. The first thing I saw was my hands. They were still wrinkly, so I must of fell asleep without morphing my looks back. Seconds later, my normal skin and blue locks had returned and I quickly shook Fred, who was leaning against me, "They're back." I whispered quietly. Fred stirred, but I covered his yawn with my hand. We slowly rose above the couch, and saw George and Lottie standing next to the dormitory stairs,

"What are they--"

"Shh!" I told Fred, and elbowed him,

"Well that was ... lovely." Lottie said. George nodded,

"We should defiantly do that again sometime."

"I'm glad we got everything sorted."

"Yeah, I'm the same." George smiled, "Least we know where we are, eh Lot Bot?" He lightly hit her shoulder,

"Yep, you're a prankster and I'm just a nutcase." They both laughed,

"Well I guess ... I'll see you later." George said, glancing at the clock,

"Later it is ..." Lottie trailed off. My breath caught in my mouth. I noticed Fred's eyes were wider. We waited in a few seconds of anticipated silence, before George leaned closer to Lottie and whispered something. Whatever he said made her giggled, and then he hugged her tightly. Both Fred and I sighed deeply,

"So close." We muttered. George's eyes opened and were searching around the common room. Fred and I shot down as to not be seen. We stared at the wall in front of us for a few seconds, before looking at each other. Fred held up his hand, and I quietly and slowly high fived it. I then left it there, and Fred wrapped his fingers around my hand. All I could do was grin.

"Welcome to your first apparation lesson!" The ministry worker called across the Great Hall, "My nam is Wilkie Twycross, and I will be teaching over these remaining weeks how to apparate!"

"Is he really going to be teaching us?" Lottie asked, sounding sceptical as we took in his appearance, "He looks a little ..."

"A little what?" I grinned as I raised an eyebrow at her,

"Erm ... frail?"

"Quiet, quiet everyone!" Wilkie shouted out. The heads of each house began to quiet all the sixth years that had crammed themselves into the hall down and were trying to stop everyone from moving about while the apparating instructor was talking,

"Where are Fred and George?" I whispered, looking around the Great Hall to see if I could see the two gingers poking out within the crowd. They only went to set pranks around Snape's room. It can't take that long. Surely,
