Chapter Seventeen: Why Does It Always Rain On Me?

Lottie's Point of View

"Unbelievable!" Alex huffed, throwing a Daily Prophet on the floor on New Years Day, "Have you read this?!"

"No Alex, you threw it on the ground." I said straight faced. She huffed again, before picking it up and tossing it to me. Fred and George then appeared in the Great Hall, bouncing down the isles between the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor tables, both sporting huge smiles. They sat down either side of Alex,

"She's just so insufferable!"

"That's a big word for nine o'clock in the morning." The twins said,

"Well that Rita women!" Alex exclaimed, "She's just--"

"How rude." I said plainly. The twins looked at me. I casually looked up to meet George's eyes. It made me feel a little warmer,

"Go on then!" Fred said. I rolled my eyes, and began to read out an extract of the article,

"Sounds like Hogwarts' second champion, Harry Potter, really knows his way around the ladies. This week he has being spotted with at least two other Gryffindors and a Ravenclaw. The blue and funny blonde brown haired Gryfinndors were noted to have also being helping out their champion with the last task, which happened in November."

"See! SEE!" Alex yelled in the twins faces, "HOW MANIPULATIVE!"

"Alright Alex." I held a hand out to calm her,

"BUT--"

"Down girl, down." I said. Alex looked to be thinking about opening her mouth again, but the dangerous look I gave her made her change her mind and she sat back down in her seat,

"Good morning everyone." I heard Hermione's voice say, noted the book that had appeared next to me and then Hermione sitting next to me,

"Morning Hermione." Three grumbles came across the table. I tutted,

"What you reading there?"

"Well you'd never guess but--"

"LOTTIE! LOTTIE READ THIS!" I heard someone yell. Looking over Hermione's hair, I could just see Harry and Ron running towards me,

"What's with--"

"Lottie look!" Harry shouted, roughly shoving a small piece of parchment into my hand. I rotated it round in my hands multiple times, getting over the initial shock before holding it still and up right,

Write me if and when you need any kind of help, 'cause Padfoot and Moony are closer than you think.

"What did you want me to do about that?" I asked, slightly flabbergasted at why Harry was showing me such a note when I already knew they were back,

"Closer than you think!" Harry exclaimed, furiously tapping the line on the tatty piece of parchment, "They must be in Hogsmeade! Or even Hogwarts!"

"Harry..." I said slowly, patting the space beside me on the bench. Harry eagerly sat in it, whilst Ron had taken seat the other side of Hermione, beginning to scoff bacon and engage in the twins, Alex's and Hermione's conversation, "They're not in Hogwarts. Or Hogsmeade. I'm sorry Harry."

"How'd do you know?" He said, "You've hardly wrote to them!"

"Thing is H," I started, "I'm older and much wiser than you. If they were anyway near, I'd know by now."
