Third POV

Chaos took over the Ravika University. The SUV parked anywhere open, the demon slayers filed into the field. The school ground rumbled. Somewhere on one of the burning buildings, a roar my skin crawl. "What's happening?" I asked.
Kong swung the Hellbreaker firmly, the crimson red flames enhanced the blade.
A shadow passed over us, answering my question. A massive humanoid winged creature descended from the smoky gray sky. It sailed downward and landed in front of us. Its sharp teeth bared at us and then it screamed, a sound cutting through our eardrums.

Pete's arm was made of iron. He punched the Darkling's face. But it didn't knock the creature off. It slowly turn his head, snarling. Saliva sticking between its teeth as it open its mouth.

A fierce wind blew and sending the darkling towards the streetlight.

"You guys okay?" P'Aun appeared and he smirked. But before any of us can run, something lashed out with a wing, hitting P'Aun hard in the face. He went flying towards the admission building. P'Aun hit his head on the wall.

"P'Aun!" I screamed. Pete grabbed my arm. I glared at him. "He's hurt!"
Mom aimed the pistol at the Darkling, shooting its forehead. The creature crumpled to the ground.

I managed to take a step but stopped when I saw Mom's face. Instead of the look of weary, she looked perfectly calm.
"Go! We don't have all day worrying! I'll take care of him." Mom ordered as she shot past the running students. The rest of us followed Kong through the field. We were swarmed by Demon slayers killing off Darklings by decapitation, other wizards from different coven trying their best to not to get killed by using their magic.

The ruins were mixed of new buildings and the 1800's structure. The Green Alchemist courtyard filled with rocks and a dead end staircase that was still standing.

At the center of the field, a dead darkling crashed. Two Familiar faces emerged from the smoke. Tew's hand glowing yellow and Oak's hand were an extension of woods. "Give your best shots, wizards." Tew smiled.

"Asshole." Kong smiled back. "Where's Arthit?"
Tew gestured to the stage. "There. We can't get any closer to him. He's with your brother."

Kong didn't say anything and he dashed towards the stage. There was M and the Rainbow sisters fighting off three darklings at the right side as we sprang to kill any darkling on sight and I flicked my whip, slicing the creature in half.

Once we were in front of the stage. Trae had his back to us, he was clutching Professor Amuro's neck. Arthit was staring wide eyes at them. He was trembling in fear.

"Professor!" Kong shouted worriedly. Trae loosened his grip and Professor Amuro's unconscious body dropped to the stage's floor.

"Ah, Kong." Trae turned around and smiled. "You're so stubborn little slayer, aren't you?"

Trae lunged at Kong, they half collapsed onto each other. Trae's scythe and Kong's hellbreaker strikes. Their blades ringing. I crept around the right side of the stage to get to Arthit as Pete and Sarawat uses their magic at the darklings.

"Don't waver!" Kong shouted, even as he was fighting his own hellgod brother. But Trae tackled him down on the ground with the scythe.

"Third." Arthit was breathing heavily. "You have to esca—"

"Snap out of it, Arthit! Make yourself useful—" I didn't finish what I was going to say as something caught my legs, dragging me off the stage.

I landed on the ground, pain consuming my entire body. The Darkling leaped in front of me and another joined. Every breath left my lungs. I choked out a muffled cry. We were done. This is how we all die.

Kao POV

The situation was worse than I expected. The school was like another layer of reality. A disorienting maze of demon slayers and darklings.

Three huge orbs, the size of a car, floated above our heads. The source was from Trae's scythe.Kong was on the ground, the Hellbreaker a few meters away. I covered my face as dirt and air swirling towards south.

"This is overkill!" I said.

"You guys don't make any sudden movements." M said, raising his hand. "I'm gonna blow them away with my teleportation magic!"

"There are too many!" May shouted through the roaring wind. "If it comes to this, I'll have to use the Sixth Enchantress Arts."

"Don't be reckless! If you do that, you'll die!" M scowled.

Then someone jumped in front of me with his back on us, his Kimono whipping behind him.

"The others are in trouble!" I yelled at him. "They've got three orbs coming in at our direction!"

He bent his head down and closed his fist. Black marks snaked around his arms and it glowed. "I'm on it!"

Third POV

Huge light burst out on the field. There was an eruption of noise and a searing heat. Several Darkling's bodies propelled in the air, disappearing in the distance. I couldn't see much because of the Darkling's wing that covered me and the light that burns my eyes. I blinked against the brightness of the light. Everyone halted what they were doing. The Darklings flapped their wings and rose in the air, leaving me on the ground as the smoke cleared.

My heart dropped. Khai was wearing a long white kimono, flapping like wings of fire behind him. There were black lines around his arms.

"K-Khai?" My voice was dismayed.
One Darkling charged at him. Khai's lips curved into a haughty smile as he pressed one hand over the darkling's chest, stopping him on his tracks. "I've mastered the Light of Yashi. I can finally unleash it!"

I felt my friends looked at Khai with wide eyes as if he brought the light of hope or probably sensing the insane amount of magic power in him. He swept his fist into the darkling, hurtling him towards the Green Alchemist building.

Khai smiled and winked at me. "It's good to be back."
