If only you could see me now. Long ago, I was weaker, more naive .
Here I stand today, stronger than I was back then.
I've learned from those mistakes.
If only you could see me smile, with more security than you could provide.
The way I laugh, it never ends.
My heart, broken by the way things had ended-Yet I wouldn't change a thing.
Without that pain I wouldn't know the love I feel today.
You couldn't- or wouldn't- give me the love I wanted, the love I needed, the love I deserved.
Your words like knives in my back... when you were the one who should've protected me.
Every night, I sleep while embraced in a blanket of warmth & calm.
Every morning, I wake up to smiles.
Isn't this what you wanted for me? To live a happy life?
Or did you expect me to find happiness with only yourself? In the ways you would allow?
Here I stand, writing to you- the one who chose to not see me.
Can you see me now?
