Storm of Anger

Banging on the walls as my lungs begin to crumble, I can feel my body shaking. The heavy ache in my chest continues growing, and the tears continue flowing down my cheeks; my legs from underneath collapse resulting in the black and white marble leaving a mark of black and blue. You beg the voices inside to silence, you cry for your heartbeat to still.

With each thought, you can feel it curdling in your gut. Getting bigger and stronger, you're sure it's ready to explode. Closing your eyes, biting your tongue, silently you pray to a deity you're unsure of. Under your lids, you see hallucinations of dancing colors in the form of the life you dreamed of. As the colors fade so do all your senses, you're now as numb as a stone statue.

And then... it hits you.

Not in pieces but all at once.

Like an asteroid crashing into Earth, like a tornado spiraling out of control, you turn the room inside out. With the blankets & pillows thrown about, the chair flipped over, and the glass shards at your feet, you gasp as if drowning and notice your surroundings once again.

You knew this would happen yet you continue to act like it never did... and nobody notices.
