Chapter 23-Caught

Lexi's P.O.V

I woke up with a headache and feeling constricted. I opened my eyes and I saw Carlos hugging me and Adriana in the middle of us. Like before.

I almost smiled at the thought...almost.

I slowly got up without waking either one and went to the warehouse

Carlos P.O.V

I wake up and see Adriana is sleeping and Lexi is gone.

Yesterday she passed out from exhaustion so I placed her in my bed with Adriana since I know Adriana and I missed sleeping with her

I don't know what is happening to her. Every time I see her she is emotionless.

Yesterday is the first time I told her I loved her and she just told me I shouldn't.

I want to help her, but I don't know-how

I have to take care of Adriana all by myself since Lexi is ignoring us and the mafia since Lexi rarely leaves the house

I pick up Adriana and she starts crying

"I know. I'm sorry.  it's been a stressful week, but don't worry I will make Lexi open up to me one way or another" I said softly to Adriana

"Soon your Lexi will be back and we will be happy again," I said as Adriana calms down and falls back asleep

I decide to take a shower and change into my work clothes since I have to head to my office today instead of the warehouse

I just became CEO of Smirnov Enterprises yesterday since I also have to take care of Diego's legal businesses and I wanted to share it with Lexi but she didn't talk to me at dinner so I kept quiet

I head to the building and go up to my office which is on the top floor

"Hello Mr.Martínez," my secretary said and she was looking at me up and down

"What do I have today," I asked and she handed me a paper with my schedule today. I skimmed it over and it was all meetings with the board.

After the meetings, I left the office for the day and I headed to the main warehouse where I saw everything was looking worried

"Carlos thank god you are here. Lexi got into an argument with William in the kitchen and then they went into her office and neither has come out and it's been 3 hours" one of the lieutenants said and I nodded and walked to Lexi's office

I opened the door and saw William tied to a chair and gagged and Lexi sitting in her seat staring at him

"Lexi. What the hell" I screamed at her and she just looked at me unbothered and William was struggling to speak

I went over to him and removed his gag

"Can someone explain what Is happening?" I said and Lexi stared at William and he stayed quiet

"Just talking," Lexi said smirking

"Lexi Can I talk to you in my office," I said and she nodded and followed me across the hall

She sat down in the chair and I stood in front of her leaning in close to her face

When she closed her eyes I handcuffed her to the chair

"CARLOS WHAT THE HELL!" Lexi screamed at me but I ignored her

Lexi's P.O.V

"Lexi. I am not letting you go until you tell me what is going on with you this past week. I tried to be civil but you left me no choice" Carlos said and I ignored him
