Chapter 25- Rebuilding

Lexis P.O.V- (a week later)

This past week has been horrible. It made Carlos and I realized how much William did for the mafia.

We have been drowned in work. We usually spend all day here with Adriana. It's not the way I would want to spend my days but it is needed

Knock
Knock

"Come in" I said and Carlos walked in

"Hey. What's up" I said and he stayed silent and sat in a chair

"Ok. Whats wrong" I asked nervous

"We have to find a replacement for William" Carlos said and I took a breath

"I thought someone died or something" I said and laughed a little, but stopped when I realized I was the only one laughing

" I think Amanda is a good replacement. She is reliable and has been with the mafia for 5 years. She is a good fighter so she can also train the new recruits. Apparently she has a business degree so that will help us with that" I said and Carlos nodded

I texted Amanda to come to my office... a few seconds later someone knocked on my door

"Come in" I said and Amanda came in and her eyes went wide when she saw Carlos also here

"Have a seat. Relax you aren't in-trouble"  I said and she took a breath and relaxed

"Not to sound rude, but why was a called in here" Amanda said and I smiled while Carlos stared at her blankly

"Well carlos and I have been talking and we think you are perfect to be our second in command" I said

As soon as I said that Amanda's jaw dropped, she looked like a cartoon character

"Are you serious" Amanda asked and I nodded

"We are. Of course. This is your decision, you can say no if you don't think you can handle it" I said and she shook her head

"No. I can handle it. What would be my duties" Amanda asked

"You would take care of the finances of all our illegal businesses and making sure everyone is acting correctly. You can punish whenever you deem fit. You will also train new recruits when needed. Last but not least you have to always have Lexi and I's back no matter what we say or do" Carlos said and Amanda nodded

"You also will need to take care of Adriana if anything happens to us. Do you think you can handle all of this"

"Yes. I think I can" Amanda said and we nodded

"Well congratulations Amanda Gonzalez, you are now the second in command of the Russian mafia. Give Carlos your bank information so we can give you your new pay" I said and she looked confused

"New Pay?" Amanda asked

"Of course. The second in command is the second highest payed person in the mafia. You will get a million a day every day you work which will be basically everyday" I said and she looked at me like I was joking

"Your Lying right? A million a day" Amanda asked and we nodded our heads

" you will also need to move into the mansion. Don't worry. You will have your own wing. If you live with family we can make accommodations so that they live closer to the mansion, if needed" I said and she nodded

"Remember if your betray us or sell anything without our knowledge you and your family will disappear" Carlos said and she nodded

"Great. You can come by later today to take a look at the mansion and familiarize yourself with everything. We can talk later about your new duties and how to do them" I said and she nodded
