October 16th, 2019The SUV approached the hotel slowly and excitement was slowly building for Robbie. His initial nervousness was now gone as he exited the SUV; with Carson behind him. "Aki get your ass out of the van don't be a pussy" Carson laughed. Robbie couldn't help but roll his eyes at the comment. He felt bad for Aki if he was being honest with himself. Aki clearly just wanted to fit in, but he just didn't.
Drew and Carson were grade A assholes and Robbie just didn't connect with Aki at all which created an automatic, natural distance between the two teenagers. "Come on you guys we need to check in." Carson huffed out a sigh of annoyance as Aki and Drew began arguing over who should exit the van first.
"JUST GET OUT OF THE FUCKING VAN!" Carson screamed. Drew and Aki looked taken aback but Robbie wasn't faded. He'd spent enough time around Carson to know that he would often have insane bursts of anger over the smallest things. Drew and Aki scrambled out of the SUV and followed Carson and Robbie through the hotel doors.
Carson took the lead and checked the group into their hotel room. "Okay so it's a two bedroom room. The mini bar in the hotel room is not free. If you eat or drink anything in the mini bar you have to pay a fee at the end of your stay." Carson rolled his eyes and moved his hand in a hurry up motion, the hotel receptionist kept a straight face and didn't seem bothered by Carson's clear disrespect of her. "There is a brochure with the Wi-Fi password and a menu for our hotel restaurant. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call the front desk. Here's your key" she handed Carson a key card with an obvious fake smile on her face. Carson snatched the key card from the receptionists hands and lead the group to the elevators.
The doors opened and the 4 boys walked into the elevator with confidence. Carson looked at a paper in his hand that presumably told him the room number and clicked the button that would take them to third floor. The annoying elevator music was interrupted by the sound of a can opening. Elevators always gave Robbie claustrophobia so he reached into his backpack and grabbed a can of beer. He hoped the sound of him opening the can wouldn't attract the attention of the others but it did. "You got any more of those?" Drew asked. Robbie nodded with a chuckle and tossed his black pack over to Drew. Drew caught the bag with ease and dug around until he found a bottle of pink malibu. "Pink malibu? Seriously Robbie what are we sorority girls?" Carson laughed. "It's my moms okay" Robbie defended. Carson didn't seem to mind and he opened the bottle and started taking huge chugs.
The elevator dinged and the doors opened. The four teenagers exited the elevator and followed Carson towards their room. The hallways were confusing but there were signs pointing them in the right direction. Robbie took mental notes of all the turns they took, so he could remember the next day; though he knew he'd probably forget. Carson swiped the key card and the group entered the room.
Aki let the door slam shut behind him which caused Robbie to slightly tense up. Drew threw Robbie's bag onto the bed and Carson took a seat in a chair that sat next to the windows. "So are you guys ready to get so drunk and high that you can't even remember your own name?" Carson grinned. Robbie, Aki, and Drew all started cheering. Carson dig around in his pockets and revealed an assortment of pills and powders. Drew dumped the contents of Robbie's bag onto the bed closest to the window and closest to Carson and Aki jumped onto the bed.
Bottles of alcohol littered the bed, small baggies of pills and powders lay next to the glass bottles and cans. The bag of drugs that Aki had acquired earlier sat at the foot of the bed. Everyone seemed to notice it at the same time and the room went silent. The happy cheers that once flooded the room were now just echos in the distance.
Drew and Aki didn't know exactly what the drug was but Robbie and Carson knew exactly what was in the brown paper bag. A hardcore drug that the two of them had been wanting to try for awhile but were too scared to do with just the two of them. "Let's get this party going" Robbie said with a confidence that radiated onto the others.
