—Rose's POV—
"I'm worried about Peeta" I heard Katniss saying before I entered the room
"Let me talk to him" I said
They all turned to me including the lady that Finnick told me was President Coin. She had the look on her eyes that made me uncomfortable.
"Do you think he will talk to you?" Katniss asked
"I don't think that that is safe" Finnick said coming to my side
"I was with him in there. We talked there and I think we can talk now. I understand him better than anyone" I said
They stayed all in silence for awhile
"Let's see our Rose doing her magic" Coin said making me flinch
Something is very wrong about this woman
I looked at Katniss and saw her nodding
"Just be careful" she said
"I always am"
We walked out of the room and they directed me to another room
"Are you sure?" Finnick asked and I nodded
A doctor showed me where the door was and went away. I slowly opened the door and gasped at the sight of Peeta
He was chained to the bed and just like me his whole face was bruised. He turned to me and he seemed relieved
"You are ok.......I thought that.......I thought that they had killed you" he said and I shook my head
I went close to his bed and sat down on it. I took his hand on mine and he smiled
"You know that nobody can kill me. I am a survivor" I said whispering the last part which made him laugh
Out of nowhere, his expression became serious again
"You can't trust them, Rose. Especially Katniss. She will kill us all........you have to believe me" he said quickly and I nodded but internally I wanted to cry
"Don't worry......I am ok" I said trying to smile
"We can't trust them, Rose. They are the real enemies. Please, be careful........you and Johanna are the only ones that I still have left"
I hugged him but, unfortunately, he couldn't hug me back
"I have to tell you something" I whispered when we separate from each other
He nodded and I showed him the ring
"I am getting married" I said and he smiled while looking at the ring
I know that the old Peeta is still in there. I don't know what they did to him but I know that I will make sure that the old Peeta will come back
