1994

"In Shadyside, the past is never really past..." A middle-aged woman spoke timidly as she flipped through the dusty and torn pages of what looked to be a diary, while two young teens watched as the woman shifted through the multiple clippings that had been placed in the book for who knows how many years.

Coming to a stop, the woman; C. Berman as the two had learned to call her, shakily lifted an old polaroid picture that captured two young girls standing in front of a Camp Nightwing welcome sign.

"This was July- July 12th. Summer of 1978. The first day of camp." Berman grew silent as she looked down at the photo, her face scrunching up as if she was pained just by looking at the photograph.

Throwing the photo onto the ground in front of the two teens, she released a shaky breath. "A week later, my sister was dead and my best friend was gone."
