mike is very observant, he can tell when somethings off. he doesn't want to be very insistent so he waits on you, but that doesn't work out well; he doesn't have much patience.
prevents you from making choices while you're upset – he knows people can be impulsive when they aren't thinking straight.
he gets stuff to help you settle down before you two talk.
