The Doom Trilogy(PJO and Kane Chronicles fanfic): Book 1; The Two Sides Meet

Intro Part 2~

The plan was simple. But it was also stupid.

'There's no way this is gonna work,' Percy thought to himself.

The plan was to try and climb around so that he would face the dragon's back.

It was stupid but most of the heads were facing the other way.

"Well nows a good enough time to try," he said.

He began to climb. He was around 20 feet a way when he realized it was pointless.

As soon as one of the heads saw him the whole dragon would attack him. He needed a distraction.

"Come on Percy think," he whispered.

'I could always throw Riptide... But then I'd be defenseless if his head sees me'

'What am I gonna do?' he thought

He finally decided he had no choice.

He was gonna throw Riptide.

"Hopefully Nico keeps his promise," he whispered to himself.

The promise was simple. Nico had promised him that if Percy died on the quest, he'd explain to Annabeth.

He crept closer and closer to the tree.

'Almost there'

Then he stepped on a twig.

'Damn it'

The dragon raised it's head.

He threw Riptide as far as he could.

It did the job. The dragon turned away from Percy.

'Yes finally some good luck'

He stood up and started springing towards the tree.

He jumped up and grabbed an apple.

"Yes!" he cried out.

The dragon turned it's heads with unbelievable speed!

'Oh gods no'

Percy froze with fear.

'Well this is it,' he though.

It spit out something.

Venom? Poison? Or just nasty spit?

Percy wasn't sure, but either way he was dead.

He raised his hand following an instinct so powerful that it couldn't be denied.

Suddenly there was a huge golden flash and a golden sphere of energy around Percy.

'What in Hades is this?'

The dragon looked equally confused.

It spit it's poison again, but it did nothing to the sphere.

His hand felt extremely hot.

'It's the symbol,' he realized.

"Now if I could just get out of here," he said to himself.

Suddenly the golden sphere blasted into the dragon knocking it unconscious.

Percy mumbled, "Ow I'm so tired."

He fell to the ground and began to black out, but before he caught a glimpse of a female figure walking towards him.

Then everything went black.
