"You want some more chicken nuggets baby girl?" I asked Arianna as she bounced around in her high chair.
"Chicken nuggets!" she squealed.
I giggled placing five homemade chicken nuggets and homemade mac and cheese on a plate. I sat the plate in front of her.
"Eat up baby girl" I said putting a plastic spoon on her plate.
I was nervous about giving her a fork. I sat my newest edition iPad on its stand, pulling up a cartoon on YouTube. Arianna cheered as the cartoon played on the screen. Rodrick's daughter warmed my heart.
"What y'all doing?" Rodrick asked walking into the kitchen.
After our night on the beach, we agreed that I would stay at his place until we found our own.
"Just feeding baby girl before she goes to bed" I informed him.
Rodrick kissed my lips quickly before slapping my ass.
"Babe stop. Ari's right there" I whispered walking over to the countertop.
"She don't know what we doing" he said walking over to her and kissing her forehead. "Right baby girl?"
Arianna giggled but was too invested in her cartoon to care.
"What she watching?" he asked running his fingers through her jet-black curly fro.
"I'm not sure. I just put anything on" I said wiping down the countertops.
This was my first time spending the weekend with Rodrick and his daughter. So far it's been great. I felt like we were a real family.
"I was thinking about getting full custody of Ari" Rodrick said suddenly.
I turned to face him.
"Really?" I asked folding my arms across my chest. "Why?"
"My BM fuckin' around with a nigga I used to be brothers with. She even had this nigga around my daughter" he said irritated.
"I get that but don't you have to have proof of neglect or something?"
"I ain't sure but I'm gon' figure it out. I don't want my daughter having to grow up in no bullshit."
I nodded walking over to him. I massaged his shoulders while looking down at Arianna. She was so innocent. I couldn't imagine her having to grow up a certain way too.
"I'll ask some of my friends to see what I can find out" I said.
"Thanks bae" he said still playing in Arianna's hair.
After she finished eating, Rodrick gave her a bath and put her to bed in her bedroom. Meanwhile I was in his bedroom scrolling through Instagram. I stopped at a post of Vicki. I forgot I still followed her. I'm shocked she didn't block me after I beat her ass. I decided to unfollow her and keep it moving.
