Tell me we werent just friends

‼️Starting this chapter, this book contains season two of outerbanks spoilers‼️

also,,, chase and madlyn broke up?? crying throwing up and shitting. love is dead. 

"What? No pope handled Sarah and John B returning just fine" JJ tried to reassure Kiara as they walked up the chateau porch steps
"Oh so Pope passing out is handling it good?" Sarah interrupted
"i'm fine now!" Pope assured, seeing Kiara walk in
"I'm glad you're okay" Kiara said genuinely and JJ looked at John b
"dramatic, both of you passed out" JJ pointed out
"JJ- think about what we've been through. of course i'm going to pass out at my best friend and his girlfriend coming back from the frickin dead man" Pope exclaimed before Sarah cleared her throat

"Yeah i'm not exactly his girlfriend.." She said looking down at the necklace made from johns bandana

"wait- you guys broke up?" Kiara asked concerned

"What? oh god no! we uh.. we got married" Sarah said looking at kiara and then at john b with a small smile. John B and Sarah gave each other the most loving looks the pogues had ever seen in their life, JJ interrupted the moment with fake retching noises, resulting in a slap from kiara to the bicep

"JJ, why is the hot tub empty?" John B asked suddenly

"Uhh because we were getting rid of it.." JJ said confused, not picking up on what John B was putting down 

"Well you better go get it filling, tonight we're drinking" He said with a smile

"Ill go pick up some beer?" Kie volunteered 

"Ill come" JJ added and Kie nodded

"Kie will you get a few white claws? i hate beer-" Sarah began when JJ interrupted her

"Kook" He muttered with a cough making the others including laugh

"Hey Sarah's one of us now" John B defended, looping an arm around the girls waist looking at her lovingly.

"Sarah Cameron is a pogue, with richer taste" John B teased with a smile.

Kiara picked the keys up, swinging them around her fingers

"Lets go" She said before she paused, Kiara suddenly pulled Sarah and John into a tight hug. After a lingering moment she and JJ left for the beer run

JJ and Kiara lugged several boxes of cheap beer into the back of her car. JJ paused, looking down at the girl, after a few moments she caught on.

"What?" She asked tilting her head slightly 

"Kiara I-" JJ couldn't hold it in anymore "I was trying to tell you about it before Sarah and John B showed up.." He mumbled, the obnoxious loud mouthed hot headed blonde boy was at a loss for words around the curly haired girl he adored, she brought him to his knees like no one else could. 

She had him wrapped around his finger, couldnt she tell?

"Everything okay, J?" Kie asked 

JJ inhaled sharply shaking his head slightly, before the boy took her face in his hands planting his lips on hers, his actions conveyed how he was feeling better than his words could have.

It wasn't much of  a kiss, in under a second Kiaras hands were on his chest shoving him away from her breaking the kiss. 

"What the hell JJ?" Kiara practically shrieked. JJ was almost as shocked as her, 

"I'm sorry i thought-" He paused, an upset feeling rising in his chest 

"Well i thought it was okay, with how you've been coming on to me lately" JJ said, realizing he worded it the shittiest way he could have possibly said it. 

"Coming on to you? All i wanted was a friend when the rest of them abandoned me JJ!" Kiara said, the pit of her stomach dropping. The last thing she wanted to be doing was screaming at JJ in a parking lot, especially when he had read her actions correctly, but for the sake of the pogues she had to pretend she saw him as nothing more than a friend. 

"Tell me we weren't just friends"

"Pogues don't mack on pogues." Kiara said, her voice a lot more calm now. "Look let's just- head back to the chateau, back to our friends and we can just ignore this-" She said, it pained her to hide how she felt but she just wanted things to go back to normal. She wanted to stop feeling like she was easy, or something all the guys in the group could take turns with, but at this point she'd kissed every one of the pogues. Or well, theyd kissed her. 

JJ shook his head, tears burned his eyes, he kept his head low so she couldn't see how much it hurt him. 

"No, i don't want to be around you- I don't want to see you, Kiara" JJ said out of anger, turning his back to her and began to walk away. 

Kiaras lip trembled as water brimmed her eyeline, she turned away climbing into her car and slammed the door, her fists beat the steering wheel when she accidentally hit the horn, causing her to jump

"Dammit!" She exclaimed before the tears fell down her cheeks. 

It took her 15 minutes to collect herself before she wiped her tears and started back to the chateau. Pope had questioned where JJ was upon her arrival, she broke down crying again, gaining attention from the two other pogues.
