Chapter 9: Lunch With The Nerd

"Wake up Clara its 11 already." My sister says opening my curtains. I groan, no not today.

"Close the curtains Kate, its too early." I mumble into my pillow. I feel a body sit on my bed and silence then fills the room.

"Its about Jack isn't it?" Kate asks patting me on the back. I turn around on my bed to face her and then pull up my covers to my chin.

"Maybe it is, maybe it isn't." I imply and shrug. 

"You are so hard to get into you know. You don't let your feelings out, you can be so annoying sometimes." My sister says and stands up. I glare at her, not all people like letting their feelings out sometimes especially to my sister.

"You can as well, I'm guessing you just don't notice it." I explain and kick the covers off of me. Kate comes up close to me so we're only just inches apart.

"I would slap you but I don't want to get ugly all over my hand." I sister says through her teeth. I chuckle lightly.

"Why not? You already have it all over your outfit." I say. But all Kate does is leave with another word. I smile with my victory and get ready for my day out, me and my parents are going out for lunch together. We haven't done that in forever and I think its about time we did it again.

I change into a strapless baby blue dress with a tribal belt and some brown T-strap sandals. I do the hygiene stuff and go downstairs.

"I'm going out now!" I shout to Kate but leave before I can hear a reply. I walk down the driveway but bump into someone who is coming up my driveway. My bag drops to the ground, luckily there's nothing breakable in there.

"Watch where your going- Leo?" Leo gives me smirk. Great now I got nerd germs all over me.

"Hello to you too Clara." Leo greets and bends down to pick up my bag. Then something falls out, great how embarrassing. I see a grin grow on Leo's face." You carry a little teddy bear around with you?"

"No, its for my parents." I lie. Its not just any teddy bear, its Mr. Snuggles. I snatch Mr. Snuggles and my bag back. I quickly put Mr. Snuggles back in and put it over my shoulder.

"What are you doing here anyway Leo?" I ask bored. I really don't have time for this, my parents will be here any second.

"I texted you this morning. Didn't you get my text?" He responds a bit concerned. I raise an eyebrow and reach into my bag and grab out my phone.

Study this morining, can't do Monday.

Leo

I sigh now I wished I woke up earlier. I put the phone away and then my parents car pulls up. Great, karma is hating me again.

"Hello Clara, whose your friend?" My mum asks putting her sunglasses on her head.

"He's not my friend..." I groan. "Mum, dad this is my tutor Leo." 

"Hello, Mr and Mrs Hill." Leo greets and gives them a wave. Seriously, can this get any cheesier. Yeah just invite him to lunch or something.

"We were just going out to lunch, want to join us? It would be great to get to know you." My mum asks. My eyes widen, no freaking way.

"Mum..." I hiss and move closer to the car. "Thats a horrible idea." My mum ignores my protest and moves her head so she can see Leo.

"What do you say Leo?" My mum questions. Please say no, please say no.

"So Leo, hows our daughter doing in math?" My dad asks taking a bite of his salad. Here I am, in a fancy resturant with Leo and my parents. A dream come true.

"Doing quite well sir, but I think I will still have to tutor her until her final exams." He implys. I choke on my food and start coffing. Leo pats my back trying to get me back to life.

"Sorry, I was just suprised by his comment." I choke out. Leo chuckles at what I said and then recovers. My final exams are at least 5 months away.

"Thanks for the meal Mr and Mrs Hill." Leo thanks. My parents nod and get up to go pay the bill. There gone in 3...2...1

"Until my final exams what the hell!" I whisper shout. He leans back a little shock. " I though I was doing exceedingly well?"

"You are, but for the final exams thats not good enough." He responds. I run my hand through my hair in stress. Another 5 months with Leo, another 5 months stuck with him.
