donghyuck was sitting on the corner of a cafe drinking a tea he didn't know how to pronounce the name of. he couldn't say much for that fact, he just moved to the states and is still struggling with english. being far from home donghyuck often felt sad, he knew all he had to do is work hard and graduate and then he could go back but easier said than done. donghyuck was a very average person, he didn't like attention and just liked doing his own thing but because of the language barrier people often misunderstood him or shied away from him. which made him feel miserable, he had no one to talk to and no one he could relate with.

donghyuck put his phone on the table and stretched out his arms. right that instant a boy with a baby blue hoodie and white ripped jeans entered the cafe. his black hair was styled messily, donghyuck couldn't help but stare at the boy. the other boy that now sat a few tables away looked at donghyuck with a smile. he probably noticed him staring.

hyuck suddenly got a call from his best friend jeno making him snap out of it. he picked his phone up and as he started speaking a couple of people looked at him, donghyuck assumed it was because he was the only one talking in the quiet café. he gave a few people small smiles before continued his conversation with his friend.

after a few minutes of hyuck talking the cashier slammed her hands on the table, "this is america! speak english" she shouted. this wasnt the first time. donghyuck quickly ended the call and and looked down at his lap. donghyuck could only keep quiet due to the discomfort. "what? can't speak up! say something or go back to where you came from!" at this point donghyuck was about to cry, he felt so humiliated, so embarrassed, he felt powerless. before she could continue talking the guy that made eye contact with hyuck earlier stood up and took heavy steps towards the cashier. "what's wrong with you! he can do whatever he wants he isn't harming anyone!" the cashier scoffed loudly and looked at the boy "so now you're supporting him and his alien language?!" she kept shouting useless stuff. donghyuck wanted to leave as soon as possible but he just froze.

"you! speak english or get the hell out of here!" the boy sighs and taking fast steps towards donghyuck. he hold hyucks hand as he gives him a nod of assurance. "you're disgusting" he says as he glared at the cashier. she rolls her eyes before starting to speak under her breath.

"I'm really sorry you had to experience that, people can be cruel" donghyucks eyes go wide, "you're korean?" he asks confused, the other nods with a smile. donghyuck smiles back before continuing to speak. "I'm sorry for bothering you I didn't mean to make a scene" donghyuck says as he starts to fidget with his fingers. "what are you talking about, if she was a man I would be in jail by now" he says as he laughs. donghyuck looks up and smiled at the other. it was hyucks first genuine smile in a while. it felt nice to have someone he could talk to. "lee minhyung but call me mark" the boy says as he shook hands with donghyuck who couldn't help but snort at the formal hand shake. "not in a rude way but what are you doing here?" mark asks looking at hyuck, his eyes grow a bit meaning he was curious.
"well I'm a model and I was suggested to come here for better experiences, what about you?" mark smiles before replying. "im canadian and im also here to model" mark said simply smiling at hyuck who couldn't help but smile at the boys cute behaviour.

mark stretches his hand out basically making the both of them walk. "where are you staying by the way?" mark asks as he stares at donghyuck. "this random hotel near julie nation academy" donghyuck says happily, he was happy that someone understood him.

as they were walking back to their hotels they started talking about everything and anything. they shared a few of the same interests which made it quite easy for them to open up to one another. they talked about homesickness and loneliness, what their plans are after graduation and a lot more. it was the first time donghyuck had a genuine conversation with somebody in the states. it felt so good, so comfortable and warm?

as they were in front of the younger's room mark bid his goodbyes and mentioned that he doesn't mind helping donghyuck if needed. donghyuck couldn't help but feel butterflies in his stomach. as mark waved his hand tajing a few steps towards the exit donghyuck started speaking. "can I hug you?" donghyuck quickly felt embarrassed, he regretted it as soon as it helft his louth. he shut his eyes in embarrassment and quickly looked down. as he was busy overthinking mark pulled him into his chest and wrapped his arms around the younger's waist holding him close to himself. the fact that it wasn't a big deal for mark made hyuck even more embarrassed but it was too late to say that it was a joke. "thank you for helping me this morning markie I appreciate it a lot" donghyuck took the opportunity to show hus gratitude. with mark not being able to see his face due to the hug donghyuck thought it was the perfect time to thank him. "don't worry about it, I'm always here for you if you need anyone" mark said softly making hyuck feel like a teenage girl who received a text from her crush. "wanna do something together tomorrow? if you're cool with it we can go out and get to know each other better?" mark has always been the friendly type but he had never been this comfortable with someone he had only known for a fee hours.

"I don't mind as long as it's with you" donghyuck said with a smile not realizing it could be misunderstood. he quickly covered his moth and apologized a fee times die to the embarrassment. "don't worry I won't mind as long as it's with you either" mark has never been the flirty type and he didn't realize how natural he made it sound. the younger couldn't help but look down in embarrassment.

they bid their goodbyes for the second time before donghyuck enters his room. being out so late wasn't part of the plan. he wanted to get a drink and quickly come back so he can finish his movie. he sits down and smiles at the thought of mark, he plops down on his bed and continues to smile. donghyuck knew he woundlt be able to focus on the movie because all that was on his mind was mark.
