"It's alright shhhh your safe" I reminded her when there was a knock at the door. I had called pepper and explained the situation to her. She ran out to get me everything I would need to take care of y/n
I opened the door and she hid behind my legs
Pepper had around 4 bags of things and dropped them all when she saw y/n behind my legs
"Oh Wanda....she's precious" she told me bending down and her knees
"Hi little one" she cooed at her making y/n hid her face into me.
I picked her up and she shoved her head into the crook of my neck
"Look at this hair. You look so much like your mama" pepper cooed.
I shook my head at her. I wasn't ready to try and have this conversation with Y/n yet. She wouldn't understand
"You haven't told her?" She asked in a hushed tone as I let her inside.
"She's just...her chart or whatever said she was like 7 but.. I mean...she has the mindset of like a 2 year old....she just breaks my heart..I don't want to mess anything up" I said
"I understand that. I'm sure you'll work everything out" I nodded as I ran my fingers threw her hair
Once pepper left I unpacked everything she brought. I noticed a few pacifiers I would never give her at this moment in time so I hid them in my nightstand
"Okay babygirl...why don't we take a bath then will get you fed" I suggest
As I was bathing her I noticed how skinny she truly was. How little she is to be 7.
She was almost completely comfortable with my touch. I guess she felt it too. The feeling of being complete and fulfilled which had had been feeling since the first time I looked into her eyes and saw myself in her.
She whined pointing to a duck on the counter
"You want it?" I asked and she nodded
"Go ahead try" I gave her the go when I noticed her little pink orbs forming in the palms of her hands
She was able to make it levitate for a couple seconds before it fell to the floor. She let out a sad sigh
"Hey it's okay...you brains just tired" I stroked her cheek with the pad of my thumb
"I do it" she told me
" I have no doubt about that sweetheart. Your my strong little witch" I pocked her nose making her smile
I made the duck fly to her and she took it from me giggling
The sweet sound brought tears to my eyes
"Got it!" She giggled again holding it in the air
But once she had it she didn't know what to do with it. She was obviously puzzled
I took it in my hands holding it under the water
"Look like this" I squirted some of the water at the bathtub wall and she gasped making me giggle
"Why don't you try" I refilled it for her before giving her back the duck. She squirted it at me
"Hey little witch not at ma- Wanda. Spray the wall you goober" I giggled at her pinching her cheek lightly only making her burst into a fit of giggles.
After a while I noticed her start to shiver
"Come on my little witch is cold" I got her out wrapping her in a towel
She started the whine a little
"You like the bath?" I asked as I started to dry her off
She nodded
"Well you can take one again tomorrow" I told her and her eyes lit up
I changed her into little pjs before taking her to the kitchen sitting her on the counter.
She rubbed her eyes with her small fist and let out a big yawn
"You tired baby" I asked playing with her damp hair and she nodded
"Let's try to eat something. Then you can go sleepies" I looked in the fridge to see what I could quickly make her that wasn't going to upset her stomach too much. That was obviously an I idea my second parenting fail was leaving her up on the counter while I had my back turned to her. The first being not knowing she existed.
Out of the corner of my eyes I saw her fall of the counter. I quickly caught her using my magic and brought her to me.
She was quick to burst into tears.
"Your okay baby. Did you get scared my love?" I asked holding her in my arms letting her cry into my chest. I felt her nod
"Mama caught you. I won't let you get hurt little witch" I reassured her planting a kiss in the top of her head
"Here baby let's try this" I placed her in the ground I wasn't going to try the counter again
I managed to grab a almost protein shake for kids that Pepper had picked up I put it into a sippy cup before picking her back up and handing it to her
"Come on give it a try" I told her and she shook her head
"Let me see" she handed it to me I took off the top taking a sip
"Mhm it's taste like chocolate milk" I said liking my lips
She gave me a confused look. She's never had chocolate milk. first thing tomorrow we're gonna change that.
"Trust me. Just try it. Your gonna like it" I told her putting on the cap handing it to her once more
She held it to her lips and hesitantly took a sip. As soon as it hit her tongue she started gulping faster
"Okay okay...slow down" I giggled walking to the bedroom with her still in my arms
I set her in the bed going to change my clothes before I laid down with her
She handed me her now empty cup
"Thank you" I told her giving her a kiss on the head
"Goodnight little witch" I cooed as she turned into me grabbing onto my pjs
