"FIRE!"
I heard Marco's scream ring out like a bell, only for his order to be drowned out by the thundering of gunshots. Hundreds of flashes of light that blinded me for a second but did much worse. So much worse for the Titans that stood beneath me. Large roars echoed out the large room. I could see from the other Titans that their eyes had practically been removed. Blood oozed down their cheeks and skin, yet those permanent and dream shattering smiles still remained. Steam and smoke began to raise up into the rafters. I gulped and swallowed my anxieties and jumped down, pulling my blades down against the nape of a titan. Around 5 meters tall as I landed on the floor. A soft thud erupting from me but a plethora of loud crashes from the Titans as they collapsed into the ground. I quickly pulled myself up off the floor, only for the sounds of crashes to be cut off by screaming. I instantly turned to face the screams. Sasha and Connie, both practically helpless as their designated Titans began to slowly turn around, their bleeding eyes piercing the two's souls.

"H-Hey... sorry big guy..." Sasha apologized as the titan began to walk forward until he swung his hand down to grab Sasha who jumped away, barely dodging the giant's attempt to grapple her, "I'M SORRY" she cried. I quickly saw Mikasa run towards Sasha's titan as I rushed forward towards Connie's, running up their back and jumping up in the air and slicing down their nape. I groaned in a mix of annoyance and slight panic as I flicked the steaming blood off my blade, looking over at Annie who gave me a glare.

"Sorry for taking your kill." I chuckled, Annie rolling their eyes at my smug little comment.
"It's fine. You keep surprising me with some of your talents." Annie spoke and looked over at Connie who was sat there, sweating slightly.
"T-Thanks (Y/N)" Connie gulped as he looked over at the dead titan that was slumped over on the concrete ground. I turned and sheathed my blades back into the slots.
"Don't sweat it man, just make sure that genius head is kept on those shoulders." I spoke as Connie chuckled slightly and rubbed the back of his head. The small chuckle between us was quickly overshadowed by Sasha screaming at the top of her lungs. I couldn't even comprehend a word she said but from what I could tell, she was praising Mikasa like a goddess for her rescue.

"Alright! Let's get going! Titans are all cleared out!" I yelled as the elevator which was filled up with cadets, which slowly lowered down until it tapped the floor. The cadets pouring out like a flood; all rushing towards the gas canisters, I quickly followed.

I sat down on the floor, beginning to fill up my canisters as I looked over at the other cadets, I was then greeted by Connie and Sasha who came beside me and sat down, beginning to fill their canisters.
"Thanks for saving me back there" Connie spoke, a small smile creeped up on my face.
"No problem, always here to help a friend" I assured, fixing my belt and ODM gear onto my waist. Tapping them to assure that they were actually secured. I brushed my hand through my hair, letting out a relieved sigh. Despite the pain which I had just gone through, it didn't feel awful. Maybe the adrenaline was keeping me stable? I planted my head against the resupply stations. The cool steel cooled down my burning head, in a way it was relaxing. I went to go touch the giant gas containers. Flinching in a sudden shock, my hand was still cut. The adrenaline really was keeping me stable. Blood trickled down slowly in my palm, like rain down tiled roofs. I let out a small groan of discomfort as I squeezed my hand. It stung. Not surprising, not my smartest move either, I squatted down and began to pull out some blades for my gear. I looked at my current ones; blunt, chipped, damn near in two pieces. I ejected the blades from the hilts of my swords, they clattered and clashed on the floor.

"Have you been inhaling the gas or something?" Connie asked, I suddenly jolted back to reality and turned to face him. I let out a small chuckle and shook my head.
"By the King, I fucking wish," I began to place blades into the slots in the ODM gear, connecting some onto my hilts, "My adrenaline is slowly running out so all the shit I've just thrown myself through is now really taking it's toll". Connie let out a small chuckle, I could tell he found it amusing but he was also concerned.
"Maybe if you inhale some you might be able to ignore some of the pain?" Connie suggested, looking down at my bloodied and dirty hands, "Might need to wash your hands soon as well..."
"I'd rather not be on the fumes which we use to project ourselves at high speeds personally... But you can have a try," I looked down at my own hands, squinting my eyes slightly in disgust, "I'll have to agree with you on the cleaning my hands thing..." I looked up from my hands, glancing around the room. Hope. It was filled with hope. This is what we really needed, it's what humanity needed. A brief beacon of hope and it was here, in the very souls of 15 year old trainees. Connie had walked off, probably to find Sasha. The two were always close. The thought suddenly turned sour. Ashley, was she ok? She had to be, I thought. She was a decent soldier, she must be at the wall, that was I hoped for at least. I pressed my back against the wall and slowly slid down. This was all exhausting, it felt like this single day had stretched out over 3 years.
