The cops pulled up on our doorsteps at 1 AM in the morning
I felt them through the force but I made myself look tired as if I had just woken up.
They spent about 30 minutes talking with me about things about the bastard.
"Do you know where we could find his friends?" The nice female officer asked
"No, I think they were in a gang or something, always had these weird tattoos on them. Not sure though" I told her
"Well, do you have anyone else to stay with?" She asked with sympathy towards Annabeth who slept in our extremely small closet.
"Not that I'm aware of, no" I answered
"I'll check our system to see if you still have any relatives who would love to take you in," She said with a kind smile
"Thank you, officer, sorry for bothering you so late at night"
"The next time you end up with someone like him or know someone like him, you come call 911 okay?" She asked nicely
"I will, thank you" I replied
Twenty minutes later, she told me that we still had a few relatives.
"Well, we check, and apparently your mother was the sister of Mister Stark," She said, clearly shocked
"Who?" I asked
"Tony Stark" She replied
"Kriff" I muttered under my breath before asking "Anyone else?"
"Well, there is the Potter family but they are located in England" She answered "But, it seems like they have their own troubles there too."
"I..." I paused to think for a while "Can you give me some time to think this over?"
"Of course," She said but looked at me strangely
Well...Kriff...Tony Stark is my uncle.
Agh... I really don't want to get involved with his mess but...
I looked at the bedroom door where Annabeth slept in.
She needs someone to take care of her.
That someone can't be me.
I can't provide for the both of us for the next year or so...
Tony Stark it is
"Miss, I think I have decided," I said in a low voice
I don't trust Stark so if I were to leave Annabeth with him, I must stay there and protect her. After a year, I will leave with her.
"Great!" She exclaimed, awfully excited about it
"I would like to call him in the morning though, it seems rather inconvenient to call him now"
