Chapter 15

Two days later, after a bit of meditation, Tony, Annabeth, and I arrive on a Supercarrier. 

"I thought you said you weren't going to help" Phil came in a while later and said

"I wasn't but just curious" I shrugged as I held Annabeth's hand

We walked into the bridge as Phil and Tony talked and I heard "...What does he need iridium for?"

"It's a stabilizing agent" I answered

Phil looked at me

"I did my research before coming" I answered before Tony continued his conversation with Phil 

"It means" Tony began as his conversation with Phil ends "The portal won't be able to collapse on itself like it did at SHIELD"

He looked at Thor for a second before saying "No hard feelings Point-break, you've got a mean swing"

Tony then continued "Also means that the portal can open as wide and stay open as long as Loki wants"

I sat down with Annabeth by the table, ignoring the weird stares given to us. 

"...That man is playing Galaga, thought we didn't notice but we did," Tony remarked and began complaining to the woman on the left about the layout.

I ignore his nonsense as he played with the screens a little and subtly put something on one of the computers. 

"When did you become an expert in Thermalnuclear Astrophysics?" The woman, who I now remember as Hill from the files I hacked into asked

"Last night and we have one right there," Tony said as he pointed at me

It gave me more weird stares afterward but I ignored them. 

I excused myself with Annabeth and began looking around the place for a while before being told to go to the lab.

"Yet you're confused about why they didn't want you around" I heard from the hallway

"An intelligence agency that fears intelligence?" Tony asked "Historically not awesome"

"I think Loki is trying to wind us up" I walked in and realized it was the man in blue who is talking "This is a man who wants to start a war and if we don't focus he will succeed"

"We have orders, we should follow them" Captian America stated

"Good soldiers follow orders" I muttered aware of the quote that went around during the clone wars 

"Exactly," Captain America/Steve Rodgers said

"Hello, call me Alan, Mr. Rodgers," I said as I snapped out of my memories

"You can call me Steve, nice to meet you" Steve nodded before looking at Annabeth

"Hello Steve, my name is Annabeth," Annabeth said in a quiet voice, not used to the environment

"Not all the time," I mumbled

"What?" Steve asked confused

"Nothing," I muttered wanting to slap myself before saying,  "Sorry, I just remembered something"

Steve then looked at Tony once more before Bruce Banner said something. 

"Steve" Bruce called out "Don't tell me none of this doesn't seem funky to you?" 

"Just find the cube," Steve said as he stormed out in frustration

Seeing that it was getting late, I took Annabeth to our living quarters. I let her sleep as I meditated through the night before feeling a disturbance in the morning.
