"Are you sure you're okay? Your eyes are swollen and red." Leo glanced at his friend, troubled to see her with a weary smile and red eyes, which was indeed a rare sight.

Ariana was always full of happiness and joy; you could practically feel her joy radiating from her, and you couldn't help but smile as well.

Seeing her behaving like this... it didn't feel right. Something must have happened.

Leo raised his head and cast a look up at Severus, who was seated in the Great Hall, as if nothing had occurred the night before.

Leo couldn't help but felt like... that SOMETHING... had to do with Severus Snape. He was the reason why Ariana acting like this. Knowing Ariana, no one can make her sad except Severus.

Ariana would always laugh and never be upset, even if she had hundreds of essays to complete, classes, and detention to go.

He was astounded to find that it took Severus six years to upset the girl, which was probably the longest record at Hogwarts.

"Come now, Ari. We have Potions after this. You wouldn't want to be late for his lesson, would you?" Leo reassured the girl next to him, who was eating her meal silently.

Ariana nodded and finished her meal before gulping down the pumpkin juice. She then gently smacked her cheeks and muttered to herself, "You've got this! He's always been an arse, so it's no surprise."

Leo couldn't help but notice her mumbling to herself, which he found adorable. He had his elbow on the table, propping up his chin, staring at his friend. He wore a gentle smile on his handsome face.

"Come on, Leo! Professor Snape would be disappointed if we arrived late for his lesson." Ariana finally smiled, her hands clasped around his, pulling him to the class.

"Merlin's Beard, slow down, Ari! We have 10 minutes left!" Leo chuckled as he let the girl drag him away, drawing attention from both students and teachers sitting in the front row.

Severus was one of the teachers. His eyes narrowed as he focused on the two. He, too, sensed Ariana's lack of interest in him today.

"From what I've heard, they are both the brightest students in your class, correct Severus?" Dumbledore said calmly, as he watched the pair walked out from the Great Hall.

Severus grumbled, "Brilliant."

Dumbledore chuckled quietly before he went on, "Miss Hart was trying to help you. Perhaps it's time to let your guard down around her. What could she possibly do to you, Severus? "

Severus huffed in annoyance, "She was sticking her nose into my affairs and acting as if she knew who I was. Plus, she's a fool to believe she can help me."

"Severus, she knows you better than you know yourself. I'm afraid you won't be able to find someone like her again." Dumbledore softly squeezed his shoulder before getting up and returning to the Headmaster's office after finishing his breakfast.
