Jay, if.... .... you part in a quarrel

Some people were stubborn. And some, didn't even realize it. Such things were always easy to claim, especially when you had no proof.
Two days ago, you had been assigned a case involving a jeweler who had been burglarized and had taken nothing more than a watch, in the neighborhood of sixty thousand dollars.
"Leave it," you beat Jay to it before he could get a word out, "I already talked to the old owner of the watch. It's not your case."
"I was just trying to help," as usual, you thought at Jay's words, since it had gone so wonderfully last time after he helped you, "It could have been...."
"Hey," you interrupted your colleague to cut off this conversation, right at this point, "It's meant nicely, thank you, but it's my case. I don't feel like someone complaining again because the person, became a suspect without any evidence.
And in the end, it had been. It had been a huge mistake to listen to Jay and let him come with you when you wanted to go to the man to ask a few simple questions.
