Wish Upon A Moon

I find it so unfair that I can only see the moon at night.
Their calming sweet light among the shining stars,
Lighting anyway for me to see,
Always bringing comfort along the way,
A beauty to marvel at forever,
Which that awe must end when morning comes.

Though selfish of me to say, I wish to see the moon always,
Their warming presence is something I crave,
Pure and bright,
Soft and light,
Strong and just right,
Though gone away as morning comes.

I wish to give you a gold touched rose.
My dear moon, I wish to show you my appreciation for you,
The way you do all that you do,
The way you love all the things you love,
The way you move throughout the day,
I wish for you to be with me always, even when morning comes.
