**Y/N's POV**

Grabbing their order, you took a deep breath to calm your nerves. You're unsure if this is the right decision but this is for Jimmy and you're hoping to give him a surprise. You're just hoping to make this request without giving away who you are to Captain America. Jimmy hadn't noticed who the other table was and you were hoping they wouldn't be offended by your request.

You set the food down and clear your throat. "I'm...um... sorry to interrupt your breakfast." All three pairs of eyes look up at you, sizing you up. "I couldn't help but notice who you were. And umm...well, the gentleman over there, Jimmy, he fought with the 107th. He's told me stories about his time in the war. If it weren't for you, both of you" looking at Bucky "he wouldn't be here. I know it's probably rude, but if you were to say hi, I know it would make him so happy."

Bucky shakes his head and slaps his hand on the table making you jump. "Steve, that's it!! Jimmy...holy shit. It's Jimmy Palmer. You remember him, he lied about his age to get in. He was 16. I looked after him because he reminded me of you." He pointed at Steve.

Steve looks over and smiles. "Oh yea! I remember him! Hogan bet Jimmy, that Jimmy couldn't out drink him. We had to stop both of them after they drank too much. I thought he was gonna die from alcohol poisoning that night. We ended up carrying him back to the bunks."

They both got up without another word, the girls and breakfast momentarily forgotten, making their way over to Jimmy. You smiled as you watched them go. They stopped in front of Jimmy, both smiling like kids in a candy shop. Jimmy looked up, shock, surprise and happiness played across his features as the two men sat down with him.

You couldn't help but feel excited for the three of them. Looking back at Nat, you gave her a small smile. "Um...I didn't expect them to do it without eating first."

Nat started laughing . "Are you kidding? You just gave them back a piece of a life they thought was completely gone. As you can imagine, they don't have any friends or family from that time. This means a lot to them."

You nod and glance back over, the guys are all laughing together. "I can't imagine how hard that is."

Nat studied you while you were looking the other way. "They've had a lot of sadness, especially having been taken out of time the way they were. It hurt even more that they both thought their soulmates died without ever meeting them."

You looked at her, shifting your weight and swallowing slightly before smiling as you snuck a glance back at Steve. "Wow, that has to be incredibly hard." You feel guilty about not coming forward to him but coming forward could expose you. "Well, if they get back and they want their food reheated or re-made, please let me know. They shouldn't eat cold food and it's on me. I'll be back to check on you later."

Nat nods, "Thanks." She watches you go, smiling to herself because you just confirmed their suspicions.

**Steve's POV

I wasn't sure how long we'd been talking to Jimmy before he caught me looking at our waitress and rubbing my wrist.

Jimmy smirked and chuckled at me. "She's a looker, ain't she?"

Steve blushed at being caught staring at Y/N. "I...well..."

Jimmy smirked at him. "Still don't know what to do about women do you?"

Bucky nudged Jimmy and laughed, "Nope, he is still just as bad. But he thinks he's found his soulmate, so, he needs to figure it out."

Jimmy raised his eyebrow, reading between the lines of what Bucky was saying. "Well, Y/N's one of the sweetest people I know. Not many people would take the time she has to talk with an old man like me. One thing I do know is she's damn skittish about anything to do with soulmates. Not sure why, she's never said, but it runs deep."
