I found this book to be a quick read, it was interesting and kept me wanting more. It really isn't romance, so don't go in thinking it will be some fluffy romance. I personally didn't really find it sad (meaning it didn't make me sad), but I tend to be apathetic towards fictional stories, so it might make you sad idk.
I thought that Evelyn's story was extremely well fleshed out, however I feel like the author skimped out on Monique's story. It felt rushed and random as if it was added in as an after thought. That is really the only complaint I have with this book.
I think this book was very good I would recommend to someone looking for a more adult story that is still written at a y/a level or someone who likes being upset and purposefully read miserable shit lol
