✨Chapter Three✨

Ivy's POV

Did I tell you that I actually work? Oops, My bad I'm sorry. I work at Sapphire Cafe after school but not all the time it depends on my shift though.

It's not like I really needed to work, but I don't want to keep depending on my parents besides there's this kind of joy you get when you earn money by yourself, it gives some kind of happiness.

"Good Evening March" I greeted my co-worker

"Do I have to open your ears and scream into it that my name is April" She replied irritatedly

"April..." I drawled as I stared at her incredulously "Are you on you period? I questioned to which she shook her head to answer "Or are you hungry" She shook her head again

"Ok, so with those two out the way, why are so grumpy?"

"I'm just stressed out" She replied sighing "You see mum and dad are at it again, they've started fighting again I really thought they already resolved their issue but it's as if they were hiding their fights from me"

Her parents were always fighting and it's affecting her a great deal because she's the only child and she does not want her parents to get divorced

"Why don't you advise them to see a marriage counsellor, seeing a counsellor might help resolve their issue we never can say" I said giving her a pat on the back as a sign of reassurance

"Ok, I'll tell them, I hope they listen to me"

"Don't worry, they will" I reasssured "Now where is that pretty smile of yours" I teased as she smiled at me

"How was school today" She asked going to her cheerful mood

"Ugh, I just want it to end already, it's so tiring"

"Chillax babe, we just started the school year don't expect it to end so early" She said flatly

"Yeah..." I drawled

"Will you two stop talking already and start working now" Our boss and cafe owner said as she walks towards us

"Good evening Mrs. Eve, How are you doing on this fine evening?"

"Ivy I will not allow you sweet talk me this time around" She said trying to hide the smile that was threatening to show on her lips

"Sure ma'am, but I just wanted you to know that you extraordinarily pretty this afternoon" I grinned as I dragged April out by her arm to help Terrence and Rosa our co-workers at the cafe.

Thankfully my shift ended earlier today, Mrs. Eve said we could close the cafe at 5:30, I headed to the park so I could watch the sun set, watching the sun set has always being my favourite things to do.

I took a 10 minutes walk to the park and sat down on my favourite spot after watching the sun set for a while I stood up to head home. My music stopped playing, I checked my phone only to see that I had a flat battery

"Ugh, not again" I whined shoving the phone in my back pocket

I was almost leaving the park when I heard the sound of someone grunting.
I hid behind a tree so that I could not be seen, you never can say it might a gang or worse a mafia fight, you know like the ones on Wattpad, where the girl will be caught eavesdropping and the mafia leader will search for her and threatens her with her family if she refuses to follow him, you know what I mean

I saw two people throwing punches at each other but I could not see their faces because it was already getting dark

From their conversation I could make out that a guy was trying to steal the car of the other one...What, I thought the park was supposed to a safe place so why would someone steal in a place like this. The other guy is a tough cookie too, he was not even scared that he could get shot or stabbed, I mean it's a thief  we are talking about here

They were still arguing and throwing punches when I saw the thief pulling out something from his back pocket and I don't want witness someone get shot or stab in my presence, I took a stick that was lying beside me and crept slowly behind them as he was about to stab to stab the other guy, I hit him with the stick at the back of his head, he fell as he slowly lost consciousness.

"Give me phone" I breathed out

"For what?" Wow, he's so rude I thought

"You know, just call 911"

After about five minutes, we heard the police siren blaring,  thankfully, the guy was still unconscious

When they got to us we were asked to give a statement, turns out the guy has been responsible for all the theft that has been happening lately.

After giving our statement, the guy which by the already regained conscious was apprehended by the police and another shocking fact about tonight was that the guy whose car was almost stolen was Jace White. The joy I felt when i realized it *Note the sarcasm*

'Who are you?' was the first question he asked me

I turned to face him and stared at him incredulously

Like seriously

"I think you wanna say something else"
