"Have you decided who to come with yet?"

That was my father's favorite phrase. I hated it.

Born in a house where everything was happy and peaceful, but only seen as a tool to my parents... tragic, I know, though there is nothing I can do about it. I was standing at the crossroads of life.

Within my grasp was my favorite game controller. I indulged myself in playing various kinds of games without minding the argument that's been going on behind me.

My ears hurt... I don't think I can bear this any further.

So without any hesitation, I made my way outside of the house and walked away as far as I could... Why even marry if it'll lead to constant fights, huh.

I wonder how everyone believes in something so shapeless as love. It was only a marvel to me. That I couldn't do something any standard person could— because I was a person who was never properly loved.

"Ha!"

*THUD*

Drowning in my thoughts, I couldn't help but hear countless thuds coupled with a girl's yell nearby. Due to my interest, I trailed the voice only to see three people who had wooden swords... whacking a wooden dummy.

"Ha!"

*THUD THUD THUD*

Just by the look of their movements, it wasn't just your average playful blows. It was a weird sight to me. It looked clean and professional, like a samurai... so cool.

I hid behind a tree and watched the three people swing their wooden swords. It was surprising to see the two of them who were girls and looked superior to that one guy— everyone looked the same age.

The three of them looked beautiful. If I combine their visuals, one might think they could descend to the heavens.

"So pretty..."

By the time I noticed it, I had leaked those words and caused the three people to pause their movements and put their swords back into its case. They all stared at me.

Ah...

"Ohh? What's a kid doing here?" The long-haired guy approached me, "Hi!" he smiled.

"I'm not a kid..."

"How old are you?"

"Eight-"

"Then you're a kid."

He's so annoying...

The two girls followed, and one crouched down on my level to look at me. This person looked familiar, but I didn't know where I'd seen her before.

"Minjeong?" The girl smiled at me and patted my head, "What are you doing here?"

The other girl raised her brows, "You know her?"

"My neighbor."

Right, now I know who she was... Bae Juhyun, our neighbor for the past five years. An eonnie, she's eight years older than me. Everyone in the neighborhood always looked up to her, and I could see why.

"Ohhh." The other girl nodded her head, "She's pretty!"

"I know, right?" Juhyun chuckled, "Now, back to the question... what are you doing here?"
