The next morning was serene. Birds twittered by the trees, leaves fall right down onto the surface soothingly and the luminous ray hits the window.

Irene grunted silently with her arms stretching themselves upward. She took her phone and reviewed her notifications from last night.

sgh.prk started following you
'3 massages from sgh. prk'

Her forehead creased as she clicked massages;

"Family meeting tomorrow evening at six"

"I'll pick you up."

"Sleep well."

She noticed how fast the progression of the contract but she didn't budge to let it slid aside. She trusts him that he'll not take it too far.

The girl cackled a laugh. Irene knew she was sleeping at that time, she always sleep early to diminish her 'waking up late' routine.

"At least, he said something nice"
She assumed. She placed her phone back down and did the usual morning routines like any other girl does. She got ready for work and left her room for breakfast.

While walking down the stairs, Irene asked her brother who's making sandwiches in the dining room.
"Hey, where's Dad?"

"He's in his room, resting. Come down here, I made you a toast"
Jay said as he gestured his hand, moving it back and forth, leading Irene.

"Geez.. Thanks, bro"
Thanked Irene before taking a seat.

"You gotta spill some tea, sis"
Jay suddenly brings up. Him, leaning towards Irene with a chair near his stomach.

"Like what?"
She asked, uproar. Confusion and nervousness washed through her body.

"Who's your fiance?"
The boy inquired as he scanned his sister in suspicion.

"Y-you'll just meet him later, we're having a family kind of gathering later in the evening"
Irene stuttered, also having the thought of how stupid she was for sputtering.

"No. Tell me now"
Jay argued.

"Shit.."
She cursed under her breath earning a move from her brother. "What was that?"

"Nothing"
Irene shrugged, having the urge to do so.

"Now, tell me. Who is this guy you're seeing?"
Jay asked again, but more severe

"It's—"
Her answer was cut off by the loud ringing sound of the telephone. Jay gave Irene a side-eyed look before heading to the living room. Irene had her chance to ran away, so she did.

At the office, she greeted everyone including Sunghoon with her usual bright smile. She headed to her desk and opened her laptop.

Picking up her coffee, she flinched at a sudden voice.
"Be careful, you might spill some all over you again"
Sunghoon warned, his eyes fixed on his work.

Irene awkwardly nodded with the same smile on her face. She turned to her Laptop once again with crimson tinted cheeks.

"What is happening?" She asked herself, silently slapping both sides, creating a dominant color.

Thus, it hit her. She asked,
"Did Jae left already?"

Sunghoon turned his attention to Irene with a straight face, replying "Yes, Last night"

She saddened her expression, having the notion of him leaving without saying goodbye. She rubbed her chin slowly as she pouted, thinking "How miserable"

"He asked me if we could attend his resignation party tomorrow, I didn't know what to say"
Her face lit up, and took notice of his testimony.

"Let's go there, I also want to see him"
She pleaded. Sunghoon only nodded and served his attention back to his work.

Sunghoon picked his phone up and texted Jae that they were coming to his party. The corner of his lips raising because of nothing.

As far as he can recall, he doesn't go to parties due to his scheduled meetings and vigorous works. But this time, he wanted to.

Just for her...?

After work

While fixing their things, the two started a conversation about the family meeting. Irene caressed her arm, cooling herself down as Sunghoon describes his parents.

"I'll just pick you up at five-thirty, alright?"
Sunghoon inquired as the girl nodded, picking up her bag. Sunghoon was about to walk out but Irene stopped him.

"Rule Number 2, drive me home?"
She smiled at her words, tilting her head to the side playfully. The other looked at her as he rolled his eyes and smiled slightly after.

He took Irene's hand and dragged her carefully to the parking lot. She grinned while gazing at their interlocked hands. She had to let out a chuckle for that. Sunghoon looked back at her, confused.

"Why are you laughing?"
He asked.

"Nothing"
She answered with a pursed lip, its edges lifting. He noticed it and gawked at his hands. The tint on their faces never relinquished.

"This is driving me crazy"
He thought.

These intentions.. it's killing him real good.
