3rd POV

The group was sitting in one of the many rooms on the 8th floor

"Let's confirm what we know" aki started

"Likely due to a devil's action, no matter how far we climb or descend, arrive back at the 8th floor"

"For some reason the elevator are unusable"

"We can't get to the outside from the rooms or windows"

"When we tried going through the ceiling, it was still the 8th floor on the other side"

"Isn't it because power killed that devil? That devil died while it was using its ability to us in!" denji suggested

"You're the one who said to kill it!" power shouted

"I did not!" denji shouted

"Abilities get undone if the devil dies, so that's impossible" aki said

"Aki, any response from the fragment?" himeno asked

"About that... The response has completely died off" aki said, showing them the the piece was completely motionless

"So the devil was a lure to trap us, huh... This is the first time I've seen a devil pull something as tricky as this"

"But... If we just never return from here... Won't other devil hunters come to help...?" arai asked

"All we can do is hope those guys don't get caught like we did" himeno said

While the others were talking, kobeni was having a inner mental breakdown

"We're all going to die here... We're going to starve to death..." she muttered

"Ko...Kobeni! Don't give up! You wanted to help your older brother who's a devil hunter go to university right?!" arai tried to encourage her

"It's half forced though..."

"My parents made me work because they wanted to make sure at least my brother who's good at everything could go to universityyyy... The only choices I had were prostitution or devil hunterrr!"

"I wanted to go to university tooo! But I'm just going to die heeere!!" she whaled

"Gaha.."

"GAHAHAHAHAHA! THAT FACE....! GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!" power burst out laughing

"Hehehehe... other peoples misery is funny" Y/n snickered

"You assholes! Don't laugh!" arai yelled at them

"Kobeni... Fear is a devil's favorite thing. If you get scared, you're just giving them what they want" himeno told her while patting her head

"But it's scarryyy!" kobeni whimpered

Himeno looked up at aki who was looking a bit on edge

"And what's with you aki?"

Aki looked at them then pointed to the clock on the table, "The room's clock... It's been 8:18 the whole time... The clocks in every room are stopped at 8:18"

"There's a possibility that just the 8th floor has had the flow of time stopped by a devil's ability. In that case, there probably won't be any help coming"

They all stared at aki with a mixture of shock and terror

"Awesome! Then we can sleep all we want, right?!" denji said

They all stared at him

"How stupid can you be? We might be trapped in here forever..." arai said
