Chapter 39: Precious

"Ma'am nandito na po ang kaibigan mo, Miss Nicolla daw po" sabi ng isang staff sa resort nang umahon na kami ni Kai at nasa may buhangin "Nasa cottage na po sila tulad ng sabi nyo"

"Okay, susunod kami. Thankyou."

Sa isang simpleng cottage na pinaka-malapit sa dagat ay nakita ko si Nicolla with her husband, Nico. They got married last year. They're with their one year old daughter.

"Nicolla!" Bati ko habang nasa likuran ko si Kai na binati naman si Nico

"Waah! Ang ganda ng resort! I swear!" Sabi nya at niyakap ako, i nodded at Nico to greet him too. His body became more matured now! And his physical features, actually dati pa pero stress lang talaga ako kaya wala na akong oras para punahin yun,

"Hello, Nicole!" Bati ko sa anak nila, she shyly smiled at me habang binibihisan ni Nicolla ng swimwear

Nagpatuloy kami ni Nicolla sa pag k-kwentuhan habang hinahanda ang snacks sa table na nasa gitna ng cottage while Kaiden, Nico, Nicole, and Milo (Our golden retriever dog) is enjoying the sea

I smiled when i saw them laughing because of Milo na nagukukumahog na lumangoy sa dagat papunta kay Kai while Nico is carrying his daughter on his back

"For sure, magiging successful tong resort mo sa opening palang!" Nicolla said while a wide smile plastered on her face

"Ano ka ba, baka ma-jinx!" Biro ko kaya nagtawanan kami

"Hindi, ah! Andami na ngang nag lo-look forward sa opening, eh! Some of our classmates and batch mates dati!" I can't help but to smile sa mga sinasabi ni Nicolla

I felt contented, my siblings are both happy with their lives, My friend, Nicolla, is living her best life with her family. And me, i have Kaiden and Milo!

I felt genuinely happy and contented seeing the people around me happy and contented too,

"Ma, Pa" i whispered while looking at our family picture, sobrang bata pa namin sa picture na yon

My tears pooled immediately, i wonder kung buhay pa sila. Will they be proud of me? Will they support me?

Everything happens for a reason, Yes. But i believe that you can't just wait for your fate to happen. You need to work on it too, to make sure that you're taking the right path.

I'm glad, dahil sa lahat ng maling nagawa ko dati, my mistakes, wrong decisions, and all my doubts ay ito pa rin ang kinalabasan. I'm happy, genuinely happy. I found out the things i wanted to do. It's seeing people happy and enjoying their time together with their family or even just with themselves

It's never too late to find out what your dreams are, never too late to make it happen, and it's never too late to be happy.

Biglang pumasok sa isip ko ang ina ko...na nagluwal sa'kin, why did she killed herself? Stressed? Frustration? Depression? Maybe, sobrang nasaktan sya nong nalaman nya na may asawa si Dad but it's not her fault though, wala syang alam.

And...

Am i not enough to make her stay? To make her keep alive? To inspire her to live and to keep on going? Bago sya mawalan ng hininga o malay, nagsisi ba sya? Naalala nya ba ako? Nagsisi ba sya dahil pa'no nalang ako?

I sighed, and shook my head para mawala na yon sa isipan ko. I'm still happy though, that she gave birth to me. I bet she's a loving and caring mother, biglang pumasok ulit sa isip ko, ano kaya ang buhay ko kung sakanya ako lumaki?
