"Roses ,dandelions and lillies.

My mother whispered to herself as she traced her fingers along the petals of the bouquet , my small hands reaching up to hoist me tall enough to sniff the flowers on the table top , standing on my tippy toes and creasing my sneakers

I smile from ear to ear and my eyes gleam in the morning sun shining through the kitchen window as the timer went off for the oven .

"Daddy sent these ! He must be really really sorry "

I said proudly , happy that the thought my father was remorseful making me smile

There was silence as she crumbled the note on her hand I didn't even realise she was holding , her hair Dangled on her face , hiding her expression to her cold words

"Go help your aunt and cousin lay the table for lunch Eren"

We slept on the couch again that night. My mom held me close as always in her sleep but it didn't stop the sensation I felt from her tears as they hit across my cheeks, I wasn't asleep mom .

Levi went silent for a cold second as his eyes widened and he smiled eerily

"Adoption ??"

My heart sunk again as I saw tears slowly stream down Erwin's cheeks as he wiped each one away with his hands on the air defeated

"I-I wanted to a-adopt Eren , just for a year or until he can walk steady on his own , I -I was going to arrange a job at the school and a g-good college I have connections with important people, t-to live together "

Silence fell upon the room as Erwin's tears pattered across the floor but not a single sniffle or cry as I could tell he was terrified , his body trembled looking to me as he dug his nails into his palms

He began laughing as it gradually got louder and louder , until it was the only noise echoing across the house , I heard him spin the barrel as he turned the gun onto Erwin
