Get This Right (FrozenTricks Edition)

(Spoilers from "for the first time in forever" I suppose)
(3rd Person)

Elsa stared out from the balcony of her room in the castle, looking across the courtyard,
Loki hesitated, he loved her... but yet... he was scared he was going to screw this up.
He shook his head, took a deep breath, and stepped out onto the balcony next to her, taking her hand in his...
She looked up at him and smiled,
"So... you're back... and you got that crown you were always promised huh?" She teased,
Loki gulped and chuckled nervously,
"Eheheh... yeah... it was like... so weird... I didn't have to fight anyone... or marry into anything... because apparently I was the only one left in the line, so by way of technicality... and bloodline... I'm king of Jotunheim now..." he said, smiling sheepishly.
Elsa giggled, leaning her head against his shoulder and looking up at the stars.
"Told you everything would turn out okay..." she said quietly, "so here we are..."
"Yup..." Loki said quietly, biting his lip nervously.
Norns... it's so hot... I can barely breathe Loki thought,
He looked at Elsa,
"Hey is it hot in here or what?"
Elsa raised an eyebrow,
"Loki... sweetheart... we're outside... remember?"
He winced,
"Oh yeah yeah yeah that's right! that's right... you're right." He sighed, "but damn it's so hot out here! Maybe I was actually starting to get used to the cold there or something?" He said, trying to make a joke.
Elsa smiled, "well... it is a little warm..."
Loki sighed with relief,
"Oh... good. Then I'm not entirely crazy."
And Elsa giggled,
"It's kinda romantic if you think about it though, a nice calm warm night..."
"Yeah..." Loki replied with a sigh,
"Under the stars..." Elsa said dreamily,
"Yeah..."
"And we're all alone for once..."
Loki grimaced, the silence was intimidating...
"Yes... we are... aren't we?"
Then he looked back at her, trying to think of how to ask...
"Yes... so... I have been thinking of something since before I left for Jotunheim... I-I-I-I wanted to run it by you... if you don't mind of course..." he stammered
"Of course..." Elsa giggled thinking he was just feeling awkward by the long silence, then she smiled and kissed him on the cheek,
But then she looked startled,
"You okay? You look like you're gonna be sick..."
Loki grimaced,
"Uhh yeah... yeah... just... I guess I'm tired."
"Oh... okay... I understand... long trip after all... well I'm glad I got to talk to you before you went to bed then... I mean... I really missed you." She said, standing on her tiptoes to shyly kiss him,
And Loki frowned, and looked up at the sky again,
"Why is this so hard...?" He mumbled,
Unfortunately Elsa heard him, and she turned pink,
"This is hard? I'm sorry... I didn't know... you're exhausted, I'm talking too much... it was a long trip for you guys... you should probably try to get some sleep..."
She started to turn around and leave the balcony, and Loki frowned grabbing her hand,
"No no no... baby... no... it's not you...never!" he said quietly,
It's me... he thought, it's always me...
The timing and the setting just aren't perfect like I thought they'd be...
There's probably someone better for you out there somewhere anyway if I'm being honest with myself...
He took her face in his hands, and looked deep into her eyes,
"Maybe I just need some space..." he muttered, but Elsa heard him and a tear formed in the corner of her eye,
"Oh... okay." She mumbled and started to turn around and leave, and Loki grimaced, that wasn't what he meant. He just needed her to back up because he couldn't breathe.He stopped her and turned her around to face him, putting his hands on her shoulders looking right into her eyes.
"No... no... that's always what ends up happening... and it never works...
No I should just be honest to you... just come right out and say..."
But then he shook his head and kissed her, her eyes widened in shock, but then she relaxed, her eyes closing and her fingers knotting in his hair like she always did when he kissed her.
He shook his head,
"No... I wanna get this right baby...
I need to thrill you in the ways you deserve!" He said, Elsa was touched, she reached up to stroke his face,
"I wanna blow your mind darling!"
Then he grimaced, looking away for a second to clear his head,
"I'm just having trouble getting out the words!" He growled frustratedly under his breath,
He took her back into his arms and hugged her tightly against him,
"I wanna give you everything you ask!!! I wanna be the one you choose..." he picked her up and spun her around,
"I wanna sweep you off your feet-"
Then he tripped and to his horror they fell to the ground, and he grimaced as Elsa lay on top of him, shocked.
"And not trip over my own damn shoes..." Loki mumbled embarrassed at himself
"Loki... are you sure you're okay?" She said worriedly
Wait... maybe this would be better with some candle light!!!
Maybe I could get this right!
He stood up, grabbed Elsa's hand,
"Come with me my love...I've got an idea..." he said quietly,
"B-but wait... where are we going?!? It's in the middle of the night! We might wake Anna and Kristoff! And Thor and Jane!"
Loki rolled his eyes,
"They'll get over it."
He lead her to the library, and started lighting candles, he motioned for her to sit on the sofa, then he sighed in relief once he got them all lit.
He turned to her with a smile, she was still puzzled.
This was totally unlike him...
He was acting erratic...
Scatterbrained.
It was kind of cute...
He hadn't acted this way since they were children.
He threw his hands out,
"Tadaaaa!!!" He chuckled, and Elsa giggled,
"I just wanna make you swoon baby..." he said with a wink, and Elsa giggled as he leaned in and kissed her forehead,
"I wanna rock your world with the ultimate romance!"
She laughed, and he sat down next to her and pulled her into his lap,
"Just wanna set the mood darling..."
Then he grimaced,
Ugh but now I'm sweating right through these nice pants!!!
Then Elsa froze,
"Loki you're literally shaking..."
He shook his head,
No... he would not let his nerves and anxiety win tonight...
He wanted this to be perfect for her.
She deserved the world.
I had planned to read a poem I wrote, to play her a lovely little tune...
Oh! Wait! Here's the thing I actually have a ring!
He fumbled around looking through his pockets, hoping to save the awkwardness of this night, then he grimaced.
That I didn't bring with me-
Oh shoot!
He sighed in defeat, and turned to Elsa and kissed her forehead,
"Well... I guess this has been fun... but I really should call it a night!"
He quickly got up, lifted her off his lap, placed her back on the couch and quickly rushed out the door like he was on fire, face red, humiliated, and slammed the door to the guest room behind him, he rolled his eyes, and tucked his head against his knees as he sat on the floor against the door.
"Damn it...
I couldn't get it right."
Elsa immediately as usual thought she had done something wrong...
"Loki wait! Please! Whatever I said to upset you I'm so sorry! Come back! Please!!!"
He could hear her yelling down the hall.
He frowned,
"I've never been in love before...
I don't know what I'm doing...
But only you could revert me back to before my damn silver tongue took over all the wooing...
So I'm freezing up...
I keep blowing it...
I don't know what else to do!
Why can't I tell you just how crazy lucky I am...
That I'm in love with you..."
He grimaced,
Because when he closed his eyes her beautiful face was all he could see in his brain now.
"Beautiful selfless brave and brilliant
Never giving up on me
Why can't I form words around you?!?"
He opened his eyes and a new determined fire started to blaze in his heart.
He threw the door open and started back down the hall to the library,
"I gotta make this right baby!
I gotta love you in the one way I can!!!"
He rushed back into the library and just stood there looking at her, she flinched when the door banged against the wall in his haste, and then she turned and saw him...
"Loki I-"
But he shook his head, she blinked in confusion,
"I wanna make you cry-"
Elsa looked shocked for a second, then he winced,
"I-in a good way!" He stammered
"Oh okay good... that's what you meant!" She laughed, then Loki scooped her up and sat her down on a table off to the side of the room with an oriental looking vase of peacock feathers inside on it.
"I gotta prove to you that you've made me a better man!!!" He said, and Elsa smiled sweetly,
He took a deep breath, and took her hands in his, looking longingly at her,
"I meant to write it in the stars!
I was gonna get down on one knee!"
He knelt and looked up at her, holding her tiny hands in his, and tears welled up in her eyes.
"I swear honestly I planned to really try!"
To be the opposite of me... he thought sadly, then he gulped nervously, looking at her, the only girl he ever really loved.
"But Elsa... I will love you all my days and all of my nights..."
Then he took her hand and placed it over his heart,
"I promise you... in here... I got that part right..."
But then he shook his head, defeated,
"But I guess we should just get some rest and I'll try again some other night..."
He started to get up, he knew he blew it,
But then something unexpected happened,
"Wait!"
He froze in the doorway, facing away from her, Elsa snatched a lily from a vase on a nearby bookshelf
"King Loki of Jotunheim... WILL YOU MARRY ME?!?!?" She pleaded, then winced when she saw it get coated in a light frost,
Oh... he thought, that's one way to do it... I actually like that...
He turned and smiled at her, rushing to her and kissing her scooping her up and twirling her around,
"YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!!" He laughed, relieved, taking the lily from her hand and tucking it behind her ear sweetly.
"Baby! I'm gonna thrill you in the way you deserve!!!" Elsa vowed,
"We're gonna get this right darling!!! As long as we're together We won't lose our nerves!!!" They said together
"I'm gonna be the one you want!" Loki vowed,
"Guess what you already are!!!" Elsa said sweetly, gently brushing his hair away from his eyes,
He set her on the ground and hugged her,
"I'm gonna make your life so good!" He promised,
Elsa giggled,
"You're doing pretty good so far!!!"
"we finally got the hard part over with!" Loki laughed,
"So now hold me tight!" Elsa pleaded, and Loki smirked,
"Oh I'll do better than that Snow Queen..."
And then he took her into his arms and dip kissed her, and when his lips left hers, they looked at each other, smiling lovingly,
"I think we got this right!" They said at the same time, and they kissed again, her fingers knotting themselves in his hair
Meanwhile, Anna and Thor, who had been watching pretty much the whole exchange, smiled,
Then Anna turned to Thor and smirked,
"Told you it'd be tonight... you owe me a bag of Lindor Truffles Thor..." Anna whispered
Thor rolled his eyes,
"Fine... now let's let the lovebirds have their moment... alone."
And they quietly headed back to their rooms.
Loki had never been so happy in his entire life.
Olaf smiled, as he looked at them cuddling and making out on the sofa in front of the fire, then continued to follow Anna back,
"Aww... that was cute! So wait... what are the odds he might revert back to the way he was in New York and turn into a psycho murderer and try to kill her like the guy you were engaged to before tried to do to you?!?" Olaf said, Anna turned and stared at him in shock,
"I- wait... Olaf... what...? That was suuuuper dark little guy... and why can't anyone let that go?!? I made a mistake! I got past it! Norns!!!" She grumbled as she carried on back to her and Kristoff's room,
Thor smirked as he passed in the other direction.
"Oh don't worry little snowman friend... I know my brother... I think they got this right."
Olaf giggled and skipped off after her.
"Anna wait up!!! Good news!!!"
