The sirens blared in the Warden's ears, filling his heart with fear for his adopted son. Sam locked down the prison, shutting off the sirens and securing the only prisoner once more, who had been thought to have escaped just minutes ago. The creeper hybrid bolted outside of the massive building, hopping onto his fastest horse and speeding off towards the direction of the dirt hut Tommy called his home. Once he arrived, Sam jumped off his horse, tying the reins to a fence post outside the door of the dirt hut before knocking on the door, "Tommy?" He asked softly as he opened the door. The only answer he received was muffled crying coming from the furthest room in the back. Sam went back there, finding Tommy curled up in a corner, sobbing uncontrollably as he rocked back and forth, muttering unintelligible words. Sam rushed over and knelt beside the boy, giving him a tight hug, "Hey, it's ok Tommy, Dream didn't escape, he's still in the prison,"
"B-But the s-s-sir-rens-!" Tommy whimpered out, tears still pouring down his face. Sam sighed, pulling the boy closer to him, rocking him back and forth gently, "He's still in there, he can't hurt you, Tommy. He can't hurt you anymore, I won't let him. I'm here, you're safe." Tommy clung onto Sam tightly, his crying beginning to subside as he began to calm down. Sam continued to whisper things to him, holding him close and rocking him back and forth, trying his best to comfort the teen.

When Tommy eventually calmed down enough to stop crying, he ended up passing out in Sam's arms. Sam didn't mind, gently stroking the teen's unruly mop of hair and humming softly. He knew Tommy had PTSD from the things he had experienced, so he was very gentle with the boy, always making sure to keep him safe. The teen's PTSD attacks normally ended like this, the aforementioned, falling asleep in the Warden's comforting embrace. Sam always enjoyed when Tommy fell asleep in his arms, it reassured him that Tommy felt safe with him, felt comfortable enough to let his guard down and be vulnerable, even if he never said it aloud. Sam loved Tommy like his own child, doing everything in his power to keep him safe and happy, doing everything in his power to make sure his adopted son could live the life he was meant to, the life he deserved.
