Tonight, you're outside the balcony feeling the cold breeze of the night alone with Calum.
"Calum, do you know my favorite songs?" You interrogated him.
"No." He answered not looking at you.
"And you call yourself my best friend?"
"But I know the songs that make you cry." He replied this time looking at you.
A smile escape your mouth on what you heard.
"You're crazy. Why do I even befriended you?" You insulted him and he just laughed at you. He won't stop laughing and so you make him stop by kissing him. He's shocked and so are you. You didn't intend to do that but it feels like suddenly your body moves on its own when you gaze at his smooth lips. You felt him kissing you back but you pull back from the kiss.
"Sorry." You muttered staring at the ground.
"Can I ask you something y/n?"Calum asked you out of nowhere. There's seriousness in his tone that made you worry.
"Uh, yeah." You answered.
"What are we? I mean.... Yeah we're friends but lately we're being more than friends."
Your eyes fixed at the guy who's always there beside you when you need someone—but you're not so sure about how you feel about him. Yes, he makes you happy but there's still doubt in your heart.
"Calum.." His name is the only thing you utter at the moment.
"Y/n, I want you to know that with all these things we do, I developed feelings to you. I'm not asking you to love me back, just tell me how you feel about me cause if you love me too, We'll make this last."
"You know the things we do are all fun and games right?"
"Yeah, but until one day I woke up realizing I want you...I love you. This is why I'm asking you, do you feel a thing?"
"I d-don't know," It hurts to break his heart but you can't tell him you like him if you're having second thoughts "but I love you as a friend, I need a friend like you on my side."
Calum faked a smile but it's evident in his eyes he's just trying to put it all together.
"That's the thing y/n. Your love can be about breaking my heart because you care about my feelings or you could be selfish by telling me to stay though you know it kills me to keep being like this. Now, tell me what's your love about?"
"I'm sorry." You started crying out of the pain on your chest. You don't want to lose your friend but you need to.
"Then let me go."
